| Summary, etc. | Background: Chronic low back pain was found to be the most disabling work-<br/>related musculoskeletal disorder worldwide. Nonspecific low back pain can be <br/>described as pain in the lumbar region without identifiable pathological causes. It was <br/>found to be the most prevalent type. A combination of biomechanical and <br/>neuromuscular mechanisms can provide an explanation of occurrence, persistence and <br/>recurrence of nonspecific low back pain. Aim of Study: To investigate the <br/>relationship between lumbar proprioception and pelvic control in patients with chronic <br/>low back pain. Subjects and Methods: seventy-five subjects from both sexes were <br/>enrolled in this study. Their age ranged from 20 to 30 years. They were assigned into <br/>two group: Study group (GI) included forty-five patients with chronic nonspecific low <br/>back pain. Control group (GII) included thirty matched healthy subjects. They all have <br/>undergone evaluation of lumbar joint position error (JPE) using Biodex System 3 Pro <br/>Isokinetic through the lumbar reposition accuracy test at 30°and 45° of lumbar flexion: <br/>using passive joint position detection mode. Pelvic alignment was assessed in all planes <br/>using Digital pelvic inclinometer. Hip abductor and extensor strength on both sides <br/>were assessed using Instrumented digital hand-held dynamometer. Results: There was <br/>a statistically significant higher mean values of lumbar JPE in the study group compared <br/>to the controls. There was a statistically higher mean values of pelvic tilt angles in all <br/>planes in the study group compared to the controls. There was a statistically significant <br/>lower mean values of hip abductor and extensor strength on both sides in the study <br/>group compared to the controls. There was a statistically significant positive correlation <br/>between JPE and pelvic tilt angles in all planes in the study group. There was a <br/>statistically non- significant negative correlation between JPE in both angles and hip <br/>abductor and extensor strength in both sides in the study group. There was a statistically <br/>non-significant correlation between lumbar pain intensity and lumbar JPE, pelvic tilt, <br/>hip abductor and extensor strength in the study group. Conclusion: Patients with <br/>chronic nonspecific low back pain have significant alteration in lumbar joint position <br/>sense, pelvic alignment and hip abductors and extensors strength. Prolonged <br/>assumption of awkward posture during daily activities alters lumbar afferent input. This <br/>alteration in afferent input affects sensory motor integration of lumbopelvic region <br/>therefore affecting the pelvic motor control. |

| Summary, etc. | أجريت هذه الدراسة على 75 شخصا وقد تم تقسيمهم الى مجموعتين. ضمت المجموعة الاولى (مجموعة الدراسة) خمسة وأربعون مريضا يعانون من آلام أسفل الظهرالمزمنة الغير محددة وضمت المجموعة الثانية (المجموعة الضابطة) ثلاثين شخصا من الأصحاء. تم اخضاع جميع المشاركين لتقييم معدل خطأ الإحساس بالفقرات القطنية بإستخدام جهاز الأيزوكينيتيك وذلك من خلال إختبار إعادة تحديد الوضع القطنى إلى الهدف في الإنحناء الأمامى عند الزاوية ثلاثين وخمسة واربعين وكذلك تقييم محاذاة الحوض في جميع الاتجاهات باستخدام مقياس ميل الحوض الرقمي وكما تم تقييم القوة العضلية للعضلات الجانبيه والخلفية بالفخد باستخدام جهاز الديناموميتر الرقمي لقياس قوة العضلات. يوجد تغيير كبير في الإحساس العميق بوضع الفقرات القطنية ، ومحاذاة الحوض والقوة العضلية للعضلات الجانبية والخلفية بالفخذ فى المرضى الذين يعانون من آلام أسفل الظهر المزمنة غير المحددة مقارنة بالمجموعة الضابطة. ان اتخاذ اوضاع غير صحيحة لفترات طويلة يؤدي إلى نقص شديد في المدخلات الحسية الخاصة بالفقرات القطنية والتي تؤثربالسلب على التكامل الحسي الحركي لمنطقة أسفل الظهروبالتالى تنعكس بالسلب على التحكم فى منطقة الحوض |
