Summary, etc. | Natural earthquakes, culture noise, and artificially induced mechanical waves have <br/>been reported to affect the productivity of oil wells. Sources emitting waves in the <br/>seismic frequency range, between 1 and 1000 Hz, have been used as an EOR tool for <br/>improving oil production rates. Theories suggest several mechanisms for the increased <br/>oil production rate including: (1) overcoming the capillary forces holding the oil phase <br/>in place, (2) improving the relative permeability of oil, and (3) decreasing viscosity as <br/>temperature rises from waves attenuation. In this work, a fully implicit modified black <br/>oil simulator has been developed. The fluid flow simulator is coupled with a ray tracing <br/>module for simulating waves propagation in the model. Wave simulation is used to <br/>calculate the effect of seismic waves on capillary pressure, oil relative permeability, and <br/>reservoir temperature. It is also used to investigate the applicability of the proposed <br/>mechanisms for explaining enhancing oil recovery due to seismic waves. The existence <br/>of such a seismic stimulation simulation tool can provide insights on the response of well <br/>producing rates at various field and tool operation conditions, explain field results, and <br/>design field implementation of seismic EOR. |

Summary, etc. | تُستَخدم الأدوات التي تبث موجات في نطاق الترددات السيزمية، ما بين 1 و 1000 هرتز، كطريقة استخلاص محسنة لزيادة معدلات إنتاج الزيت. تقترح النظريات العديد من الآليات لزيادة معدل إنتاج الزيت: (1) التغلب على قُوَى الخاصية الشعرية المتسببة في الإبقاء على الزيت في مكانه، (2) تحسين النفاذية النسبية للزيت, و (3) انخفاض اللزوجة لارتفاع درجة الحرارة نتيجةً لتبدُّد الموجات. في هذا العمل، طُوِّرَ محاكي زيت أسود معدَّل ضمني بالكامل. محاكي سريان الموائع مُقترَن بوحدة تَتَبُّع أشعة لمحاكاة انتشار الموجات في النموذج. تُستَخدَم محاكاة الموجات في حساب تأثير الموجات السيزمية على ضغط الخاصية الشعرية، النفاذية النسبية للزيت، و درجة حرارة المكمن. |
