Summary, etc. | Code compliance checking (CCC) is a critical aspect of ensuring the quality of building design in construction projects. The prevailing manual approach using 2D drawings often leads to ambiguity, inconsistencies, and delays. Building Information Modeling (BIM) has emerged as a promising solution in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) sector. However, existing BIM-based methods for automating CCC require programming expertise, limiting accessibility. Visual Programming Language (VPL) offers a simpler alternative, empowering architects, designers, and non-technical teams to develop their own tools with minimal programming knowledge. VPL enables users to visually sketch out application logic using flowcharts, capturing displays, user interactions, and data processing steps. These flowcharts can be transformed into executable programs, facilitating CCC. This research develops EBRSOM, a VPL-based system aimed at automating CCC in accordance with the Egyptian Energy code to enhance building energy efficiency. EBRSOM addresses the challenges of ambiguity and inconsistencies in the checking process, contributing to a more efficient construction process. The system's effectiveness and usability will be evaluated through case studies, demonstrating its potential impact.
