The main objective of this research is to study the cyclic load behavior of beam-to-column moment connections in frames using hot rolled sections when introducing a reduction in the beam section. This reduction weakens the beam section before the connection and forces the formation of the plastic hinge away from the connection. The idea was introduced as a retrofit to avoid the damage to steel frames that was observed due to the Northridge earthquake in 1994 and the Kobe earthquake in 1995. Finite element models are used to represent the structural elements, and different beam sections are subjected to cyclic loading (I-shaped sections and box sections). A parametric study is conducted to determine the effect of some variables on the performance of the frames, such as the location of the section reduction relative to the connection and the shape of the reduction in the beam section. The load-displacement and moment-rotation curves are plotted to assess the improvement in energy dissipation for the reduced beam section. |

الهدف الرئيسي من هذا البحث هو دراسة التصرف حمل الترددى لوصلة عزوم بين الكمرة والعمود في الإطارات باستخدام مقاطع مدلفنة على الساخن عند إدخال تخفيض في المقطع الاصلى للكمرة . يؤدي هذا التخفيض إلى إضعاف الكمرة قبل التوصيل و يبعد منطقة الانهار بعيدا عن الاتصال. تم تقديم الفكرة كتحديثي من أجل تجنب الضرر في الإطارات الفولاذية التي لوحظت بسبب زلزال نورثريدج عام 1994 وزلزال كوبي عام 1995. وقد استخدمت نماذج العناصر المحدودة لتمثيل العناصر الهيكلية . تتضمن الرسالة دراسة نظرية عن سلوك وقدرة تحمل قطاعات مختلفة للحمل الترددى (قطاعات على شكل I أو قطاعات صندوقية). تم إجراء دراسة بارامترية لتحديد تأثير بعض المتغيرات على أداء الإطارات مثل : موقع تخفيض القطاع بالنسبة للوصلة ، وشكل التخفيض في القطاع . تم رسم منحنيات إزاحة الحمولة والدوران اللحظي لتقييم التحسن في تبديد الطاقة لقسم الحزمة المخفّضة<br/><br/><br/><br/><br/> |
