Time series forecasting is predicting of future values based on previously observed values. It<br/>has extensive applications in many fields. Many time series data sets contain less than or equal<br/>thirty observations especially in developing countries like EGYPT. These data sets don’t fulfill<br/>the traditional assumptions. Box and Jenkins analysis assumed that the sample size should be<br/>at least 50 observations to build a suitable model. Many methods were used in Short Time<br/>Series Forecasting such as Exponential Smoothing Methods, Autoregressive Integrated<br/>Moving Average (ARIMA) Models, Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) and Grey-Markov<br/>Model(1,1) in the previous literature. Previous studies compared them and usually used one<br/>real data set or limited simulated data. The aim of this study is to review short time series<br/>forecasting methods and compare between these four methods and the Robust Rank-Based<br/>Estimation (R Estimate) Method to forecast short time series data using the global data set in R<br/>software (M4-Competition dataset). |

التنبؤ بالسلاسل الزمنية هو التنبؤ بالقيم المستقبلية بناءً على القيم التي تمت ملاحظتها سابقًا. وله تطبيقات واسعة في العديد من المجالات. تحتوي العديد من قواعد البيانات للسلاسل الزمنية على أقل من أو يساوي ثلاثين مشاهدة، خاصة في البلدان النامية مثل مصر. هذه القواعد لا تفي بالافتراضات التقليدية حيث افترض تحليل Box and Jenkins أن حجم العينة يجب أن يكون على الأقل 50 مشاهدة لبناء نموذج مناسب. هناك العديد من الطرق المستخدمة في التنبؤ بالسلاسل الزمنية القصيرة مثل طرق التمهيد الأسية ونماذج الانحدار الذاتي-المتوسطات المتحركة التكاملية ونماذج الشبكات العصبية الاصطناعية ونموذج جراي ماركوف (1,1) في الدراسات السابقة. وقد قامت الدراسات السابقة بمقارنتها وعادة ما تستخدم قاعدة بيانات حقيقية واحدة أو قاعدة بيانات محاكاة محدودة. الهدف من هذه الدراسة هو مراجعة طرق التنبؤ بالسلاسل الزمنية القصيرة ومقارنة هذه الطرق الأربعة وطريقة التقدير المحصن المبني على أساس الرتب للتنبؤ بالسلاسل الزمنية القصيرة باستخدام قاعدة البيانات العالمية في البرنامج الاحصائي R (قاعدة بيانات M4-Competition). |
