| Summary, etc. | Background: The children interstitial lung disease (ChILD) is usually a chronic and severe disease that is associated with substantial morbidity and may affect the children's quality of life (QoL) in different ways. Therefore, the aim of this work was to assess anxiety, depression and quality of life in a group of children with ILD using validated questionnaires.<br/>Patients and Methods: This cross-sectional observational study was conducted on sixty children who were categorized into two groups thirty patients with interstitial lung disease and thirty normal subjects as control group. Patients were subjected to PEDSQL questionnaire, psychiatric assessment by intelligence quotient photographed test, children's Depression Inventory and Anxiety Scale for Children.<br/>Results: There was statistically significant positive correlation between degree of anxiety and depression and both patients age and duration of disease (P= 0.05), degree of ILD severity (p-value=0.001 and 0.04, respectively). There was a lower IQ level among children with ILD whose fathers are unemployed compared to control group. There was a statistically significant association between IQ level and degree of ILD (p-value=0.04). Also, there was a statistically significant positive correlation between anxiety and IQ test among ILD children (p-value=0.000), and there was statistically significant positive correlation between anxiety and degree of quality-of-life impairment.<br/>Conclusion: This study confirmed that chILD is usually associated with psychological problems including anxiety and depression which is significantly related to the duration and severity of the disease and quality of life.IQ in children with ILD is mostly affected by the ILD degree rather than the ILD duration and clinical data. |

| Summary, etc. | يعد مرض الرئة الخلالي من الأمراض الخطيرة والمزمنة عند الأطفال، حيث يرتبط بنسبة وفيات كبيرة تبلغ حوالي 15٪ في الأطفال، فهو يتكون من مجموعة غير متجانسة من اضطرابات الجهاز التنفسي النادرة، والتي تتميز بالتغيرات التي تشمل التهابات وحدوت تليف في الجدران السنخية والخلالي.<br/>قد يصاب الأطفال الذين يعانون من مرض الرئة الخلالي بنقص حاد في الأكسجين ومشاكل في النمو، مما يتطلب علاجات طويلة الأمد مثل العلاج بالأكسجين والكورتيكوستيرويد والتدعيم الغذائي وتؤدى المتابعة المستمرة ووجود حالات في الصورة الحادة إلى دخول المستشفيات بصورة متكررة.<br/>قد يؤثر المرض في حد ذاته وكذلك العلاجات على جودة حياة الأطفال وذلك بطرق مختلفة. ويساعد اختبار جودة الحياة علي تقدير الاثار الاجتماعية والعائلية والنفسية للمرض علي المرضي من الاطفال..<br/>كما تنتشر الكثير من المشاكل النفسية، والجسدية، وضعف أداء مهامهم عند هؤلاء المرضى من الأطفال.<br/>كما ترتبط العديد من الاضطرابات النفسية بالأمراض المزمنة لدى الأطفال مثل اضطرابات النوم والمشاكل السلوكية، وعدم الانتباه، وضعف الأداء المدرسي، وانخفاض نوعية وجودة الحياة المرتبطة بالصحة.<br/>ويعتبر القلق والاكتئاب من الامراض النفسية المصاحبين لبعضهما البعض ويرتبطان عادة باضطرابات نفسية أخرى ويتعايشان مع اضطرابات طويلة الأمد للحالات الطبية المزمنة، كما في اضطراب الرئة الخلالي. |
