Summary, etc. One of the largest issues facing the biomedical industry is the rejection of Ti-alloy implants from the human body as they cause short and long-term problems. The issue stems from a multitude of reasons, mainly the great difference in elastic modulus between the Ti alloy and the adjacent bone to which the implant is attached and the toxicity of the alloying elements. The present study investigates the effect of age hardening on the microstructural evolution and the associated impact on the mechanical, tribological, and corrosive properties of Ti-11Mo-8Nb alloy fabricated via powder metallurgy for biomedical applications as an attempt to lower the gap in elastic modulus and provide an alloy having non-toxic elements, with increased corrosion- and wear-resistance. Among the heat-treated Ti-11Mo-8Nb alloys, aged at 500 ̊C after solution treatment had the best combination of mechanical tribological, and electrochemical properties.

Summary, etc. واحدة من أكبر المشكلات التي تواجه الصناعة الطبية الحيوية هي رفض غرسات سبائك التيتانيوم من جسم الإنسان لأنها تسبب مشاكل على المدى القصير والطويل. تنبع المشكلة من عدة أسباب ، أهمها الاختلاف الكبير في معامل المرونة بين سبيكة Ti والعظم المجاور الذي تتصل به الغرسة وسمية عناصر السبائك. <br/>تبحث الدراسة الحالية في تأثير معالجة التصلب بالتعمير على تطور البنية المجهرية والتأثير الناتج على الخواص الميكانيكية والترايبولوجية ومقاومة التآكل لسبائك Ti-11Mo-8Nb المصنعة عن طريق تعدين المساحيق للتطبيقات الطبية الحيوية كمحاولة لتقليل الفجوة في معامل المرونة وتوفير سبيكة بها عناصر غير سامة ، مع زيادة مقاومة التآكل والبري.<br/>من بين العينات المعالجة حرارياً ، أظهرت العينة التى عولجت عند درجة تعمير 500 درجة مئوية بعد المعالجة بالمحلول ، أفضل مزيج من الخواص الترايبولوجية الميكانيكية والكهروكيميائية.
