| Summary, etc. | This study aims to detect the rate of C. psittaci or C. gallinacea in <br/>ducks in Egyptian ducks by culture and PCR methods.<br/>One hundred and twenty fecal swabs were collected from ducks of <br/>different ages. Samples were purified and injected into chicken embryo <br/>eggs via yolk sac method and resulted in a congested dwarfed embryo. By <br/>yielding the yolk sac of all embryos and examining them by Gimenez <br/>stain. Chlamydial inclusion bodies appear as bright red cytoplasmic <br/>inclusions. The positive samples were pooled into eight samples and the <br/>negative samples were pooled into two samples. All ten samples were <br/>tested by two PCR primers one of which is specific for C. psittaci and the <br/>other is for C. gallinacea.<br/>C. psittaci (pmp gene) (amplified product of 300 bp) PCRprevalence rate was 8/10 (80.0%), and C. gallinacea (gidA) gene<br/>(amplified product of 331 bp) PCR-prevalence rate was 0.0 %. <br/>These results highlight the importance of detecting the incidence of <br/>avian chlamydiosis in ducks to detect any possible carriers and prevent <br/>transmission of infection to other animals and so preventing possible <br/>economic losses, as well as protecting in contact human workers with <br/>ducks from possible zoonotic infection.<br/><br/> |

| Summary, etc. | نهدف في هذه الدراسة إلى الكشف عن نسبة الإصابة بالكلاميديا في الاعمار المختلفة من البط. ولتحقيق هذا الهدف تم تجميع 120 عينة من البراز وحقنها في أجنة الدجاج، ثم تم عمل مسحة من كيس المح للأجنة الميتة وصبغها بصبغة جيمينيز للكشف عن الأجسام المشتملة على الكلاميديا والتي ظهرت على شكل أجسام سيتوبلازمية حمراء زاهية تحت المجهر. وقد تبين أن العينات الإيجابية بلغت نسبتها 61.7% من إجمالي العينات التي تم تجميعها، بينما بلغت نسبة العينات السلبية للكلاميديا 38.3%. تم بعد ذلك تجميع العينات الإيجابية في ثمانية عينات والسلبية في عينتين وتم اختبار العشرة عينات باختبار تفاعل البلمرة المتسلسل باستخدام بوليمرين أحدهما للكشف عن C. psittaci والآخر للكشف عن C. gallinacea. 8/10 من العينات المختبرة كانت إيجابية للـ C. psittaci , بينما كانت جميع العينات سلبية للـ C. gallinacea.<br/>تسلط هذه النتائج الضوء على أهمية الكشف عن حالات الإصابة بداء كلاميديا الطيور في البط للكشف عن أي حاملين محتملين ومنع انتقال العدوى إلى الحيوانات الأخرى وبالتالي منع الخسائر الاقتصاديةالمحتملة، فضلاً عن حماية العمال البشريين الذين يتعاملون بشكل مباشر مع البط من العدوى حيوانية المصدر المحتملة.<br/> |
