Summary, etc. | This study compares the structural response of different lateral load-resisting systems, including steel frame, steel frame with concentric X bracing, and steel frame with O-ring during progressive collapse. A finite element program was used to model the structures and pushdown analysis with displacement control was used to simulate collapse. A numerical study was performed using prototype buildings of two and three floors with four bays. The study identified the modes of failure, the relation between the vertical displacement of the collapsed column and the vertical applied load, as well as the horizontal displacement of the adjacent column for each system. The results demonstrated that the O-ring bracing system provided robust resistance while offering architectural versatility. Its initial stiffness is less than the X-bracing and higher than the moment-resisting frame, and its ductility is less than the moment frame and more than the X-bracing. A parametric study was conducted to examine the effect of plate dimensions, section shape of the O-ring, details of connection, member size of the O-ring, and the number of floors. |

Summary, etc. | الأنهيار التتابعى واحد من أخطر الانهيارات التى ممكن ان تحدث لجميع المنشاءات بسبب اى انفجار حول المبنى او داخله أو زيادة فى الأحمال أو أى كارثة طبيعية. أستخدام نظام الشكالات الدائرية الجديد هو موضوع هذة الدراسة. تم من خلال هذة الدراسة عمل مقارنة بين العديد من الأنظمة للمنشآت المعدنية مثل نظام الأطار المقاوم للعزم ونظام الأطار وبه شكالات مركزية ونظام الأطار وبه الشكالات الدائرية الجديد مستخدما برنامج العناصر المحددة ABAQUS لعمل النماذج ثلاثية الأبعاد بإستخدام طريقة الدفع لأسفل للعمود لمحاكاة انهيار العمود. تمت الدراسة لدورين وثلاث أدوار للثلاث انظمة السابقة. تم عمل دراسة منفصلة بإستخدام نموذج الدورين لدراسة تاثير بعض العوامل على نظام الحلقات الدائرية مثل أبعاد لوح الأتصال و شكل القطاع الدائرى و حجم القطاع و تفصيله الوصلة |
