Summary, etc. This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of metacognition strategies in raising language awareness for EFL preparatory stage teachers. The participants in this study were 30 teachers who were intentionally selected from south Cairo District in the school year 2022-2023. Four instruments were used: a needs analysis questionnaire to EFL teacher's language awareness skills and metacognition; a pre-posttest, an observation checklist and a pre-posttest to measure the language performance of the pupils. The study results showed that there were statistically significant differences between the study groups' pre-posttest mean scores on overall language skills as well as on each of the macro (communicative language awareness, pedagogical knowledge, learning to learn (self-learning), and cultural awareness) and micro (creativity and playfulness, their double meanings and Planning, carrying out, observing, documenting, and reporting the growth of a pupils' language.) skills. A significant difference was found between the pre-post administrations of the teacher's language awareness observation checklist in favor of the post administration. The conclusion is that the Metacognition strategies program positively impacts EFL preparatory stage teachers' language awareness skills; recommendations for further research.
