| Summary, etc. | Objective: The purpose of this study was to detect the effect of reciprocal electrical stimulation on biceps muscle recovery in erb's palsy children. Methods. This study was conducted on thirty children of both sexes having unilateral Erb's palsy, their ages ranged from one year to two years. They were selected from the out-patient clinic, Faculty of Physical Therapy, Cairo University from 14-12-2019 to 14-3-2019. The children's percentage of degeneration of biceps nerve was evaluated by using Electroneurography technique before and after three months of treatment programme. They were divided randomly into two groups of equal number (15 children in each). Group A: This group received a specially designed physical therapy program. Group B: This group received the same specially designed physical therapy program used with group A in addition to reciprocal electrical stimulation for biceps and triceps muscles ,assessment was made for biceps nerve degeneration. Results. The results of this study revealed significant improvement in the percentage of degeneration of the two groups (A and B), when comparing their pre and post-treatment mean values. Significant difference was also observed when comparing the post-treatment results of the two groups in favor of the study group. Conclusion. It may be concluded that reciprocal electrical stimulation has an effect on motor response in Erb’s palsy children. |

| Summary, etc. | الهدف: تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى الكشف عن تأثير التنبيه الكهربائي المتبادل على تحسين العضلة ذات الرأسين لدى الأطفال المصابين بشلل إرب. أساليب وطُرق العلاج. أجريت هذه الدراسة على ثلاثين مريضا من الجنسين للأطفال المصابين بشلل إرب ، وتراوحت أعمارهم بين سنة إلى سنتين. تم اختيارهم من الخارجية بكلية العلاج الطبيعي جامعة القاهرة في الفترة من 14-12-2019 إلى 14-3-2019. تم تقييم نسبة إصابة عصب العضلة ذات الرأسين لدى الأطفال باستخدام جهاز رسم الأعصاب قبل وبعد ثلاثة أشهر من البرنامج العلاجي. وتم تقسيمهم عشوائياً إلى مجموعتين متساويتين في العدد (15 طفلاً في كل منهما). المجموعة أ: تلقت هذه المجموعة برنامج علاج طبيعي مصمم خصيصًا لتحسين حالة عضلات الذراع. المجموعة ب: تلقت هذه المجموعة نفس برنامج العلاج الطبيعي المصمم خصيصًا والمستخدم مع المجموعة أ بالإضافة إلى التنبيه الكهربائي المتبادل لعضلات العضلة ذات الرأسين وللعضلة ثلاثية الرؤوس. نتائج. أظهرت نتائج هذه الدراسة تحسناً ملحوظا في نسبة إصابة العصب للمجموعتين (أ، ب) عند مقارنة متوسطاتهما قبل وبعد العلاج. كما لوحظ وجود فرق كبير عند مقارنة نتائج ما بعد العلاج للمجموعتين لصالح مجموعة الدراسة.الاستنتاج: التحفيز الكهربائي المتبادل له تأثير على الشفاء الوظيفي للعضلة ذات الرأسين في شلل الارب عند هؤلاء الأطفال. |
