Summary, etc. Water based mud is considered the best drilling fluid because it is more environmentally friendly and less expensive than the other types, but it loses its properties when used for drilling deeper formations. Although oil based mud often gives better performance in deep wells, it is toxic and has a higher cost. So, there is a tendency to use new technology, like nanomaterials, to provide the thermal stability of water based mud. In this study, three different nanoparticles (MgO, Al2O3, and ZnO) with different concentrations were used to investigate their effect on the rheological and filtration properties of the mud system. The results revealed that the addition of nanoparticles to the water-based mud is generally able to improve the thermal and rheological characteristics, decrease fluid loss, and also minimise the mud cake thickness

Summary, etc. يعتبر مائع الحفر المائي من افضل انواع سوائل الحفر لانه غير ملوث للبيئة واقل كلفة من الانواع الاخرى، إلا أنه يفقد خصائصه عند استخدامه في حفر التكوينات العميقة. على الرغم ان مائع الحفر الزيتي غالبًا ما يعطي أداءً أفضل في الآبار العميقة، إلا أنه ملوث للبيئة وله تكلفة أعلى. لذلك، هناك ميل لاستخدام التكنولوجيا الجديدة، مثل المواد النانوية، لتوفير الاستقرار الحراري للطفلة المائية. في هذه الدراسة، تم استخدام ثلاث جسيمات نانوية مختلفة ( اكسيد الماغنسيوم و اكسيد الالومينيوم واكسيد الزنك) بتركيزات مختلفة لدراسة تأثيرها على الخواص الريولوجية والترشيحية لسائل الحفر المائي.وقد كشفت النتائج أن إضافة الجسيمات النانوية إلى الطفلة المائيه قادرة بشكل عام على تحسين الخصائص الحرارية والريولوجية، وتقليل فقدان السوائل، وكذلك تقليل سماكة سائل الحفر على جدران البئر.
