| Summary, etc. | منحت اكتشافات الغاز في مياه شرق المتوسط الإقليم أهمية جديدة وساهمت في تعزيز مكانتها ومكانة دولها على الساحة الدولية باعتبارها أصبحت رافداً مهماً لإمدادات الطاقة في عالم متعطش للطاقة على نحوٍ متزايد يوماً بعد يوم. من ثَمَّ، حاولت هذه الدراسة الإسهام في تقديم تحليل أكثر تعمُّقاً للأبعاد المختلفة التي باتت تحكم المشهد في الإقليم، من خلال دراسة حالة التوازن الراهن، وعناصر القوة الملموسة وغير الملموسة لدى كل دولة من دول الدراسة الرئيسية، وتأثير الأدوار التي تقوم بها القوى الدولية الرئيسية في الإقليم، وصولاً إلى محاولة استشراف سيناريوهات المستقبل، مع الحرص على استبيان السياسة المصرية في الإقليم ومسارات تطورها. وقد تبنَّت الدراسة في هذا السياق مقاربة جمعت بين النهجين الكمي والكيفي سعياً للوصول إلى تصور متكامل لحالة التوازن في الإقليم، فضلاً عن الاعتماد على نظريات ومفاهيم بالغة الأهمية من أجل تفسير التفاعلات التي يشهدها الإقليم، مثل النظرية الواقعية الكلاسيكية والجديدة ونظرية توازن القوى. وخلصت الدراسة إلى أنَّ الطابع التعاوني هو الغالب بين دول الإقليم وكذلك بين معظم دول الإقليم والقوى الدولية، وإن لم يكن الاستقرار صفة سائدة بسبب تفضيل تركيا لفترة طويلة سلوك مسار تصادمي مع بقية القوى الإقليمية وكذلك الدولية. كما اتسمت حالة توازن القوى الراهن بالتكافؤ بصفة عامة. |

| Summary, etc. | Off-shore Gas discoveries in the East Mediterranean waters have given the region additional significance and have contributed to enhancing its status and that of its countries on the international stage, as it has become an important tributary of energy supplies in a world that is increasingly energy-thirsty. Therefore, this study has sought to make a contribution in providing a more in-depth analysis of the various dimensions that have come to define the scene in the region. That is through studying the current balance, elements of tangible and intangible power for each of the main countries in this study and the impact of roles played by major global powers, culminating in an effort to forecast future scenarios, with a focus on shedding light on Egypt’s policy in the region and its development trajectories. In this context, the study has adopted a paradigm that has combined quantitative and qualitative approaches in an effort to draw a comprehensive picture of the state of balance in the region. It has also depended on pivotal theories and concepts in order to explain the interactions that the region is witnessing, such as classical and neo-realism and the theory of balance of power. The study concluded that a cooperative nature is dominant among the countries of the region and between most of the region’s countries and the international powers, although stability isn’t prevalent due to Turkey’s long-standing preference for a confrontational course with other regional and international powers. It also found that the current state of balance is also generally characterized by equivalence. |
