| Summary, etc. | Background: Breast Cancer female patients suffering from Chemotherapy<br/>Induced Peripheral Neuropathy (CIPN) exhibit motor and sensory impairments<br/>leading to decreased balance. The sensorimotor training may correct these<br/>impairments and hence improve function. Purpose: This study was to assess<br/>how sensorimotor training program affected neuropathy symptoms and<br/>functional activities in breast cancer female patients with CIPN. Methods:<br/>Sixty breast cancer female patients complaining from CIPN participated in this<br/>study. Their ages ranged from 30 to 50 years. They were selected from Al-<br/>Haram Hospital and National Cancer Institute, Cairo University. Patients were<br/>randomly and distributed into two equal groups in number; group A and B.<br/>Both groups received chemotherapy, medical supplements and traditional<br/>physical therapy. In addition group A received sensorimotor training program;<br/>2 times/week for 12 weeks. Visual analogue scale (VAS) was used to assess<br/>neuropathic pain and Chemotherapy Induced Peripheral Neuropathy<br/>Assessment Tool (CIPNAT) was used to assess neuropathy symptoms and<br/>functional activities, before and after the end of 12 weeks. Results: There was<br/>a significant improvement in VAS, symptom experience and interference items<br/>of sensorimotor training group (group A) compared with that of control group<br/>(group B) (p > 0.001) with percentages of improvement 74.59%, 55.22% and<br/>66.46% respectively for group A and 31.71%, 22.17% and 34.82% respectively<br/>for group B. Conclusion: Sensorimotor training improves neuropathy pain,<br/>symptoms and function in breast cancer female patients complaining from<br/>CIPN. So, sensorimotor training can be implemented in the management of<br/>breast cancer patients treating with chemotherapy to prevent or decrease their<br/>symptoms and disabilities. |

| Summary, etc. | تهدف هذه الرسالة إلى تقييم تـأثير التدريب الحسي الحركي على أعراض الإعتلال العصبي والأنشطة الوظيفية لدى السيدات المصابات بسرطان الثدي واللآتى تعالجن بالعلاج الكيميائي. شاركت فى هذه الرسالة ٦٠ إمرأة مصابة بسرطان الثدي كانت تشكين من الإعتلال العصبي الطرفي الناتج عن العلاج الكيميائي. وكانت تتراوح أعمارهن بين ٣٠ و ٥٠. وقد تم توزيعهن عشوائيا إلي مجموعتين متساويتين فى العدد. تلقت كل من المجموعة الظابطة ومجموعة الدراسة العلاج الكيميائي بما فى ذلك كاربوبلاتين و تاكسانس خلال الستة أشهر الماضية وأستمرين فى تلقي الجرعة المخصصة لهن كعلاج مساعد بالإضافة إلى تلقي المقويات العصبية. تلقت مجموعة الدراسة برنامج التدريب الحسي الحركى والذي يشمل التدريب الحسي الذى يستغرق ٣٠-٤٠ دقيقة وتمارين الإتزان التى تستغرق ٥٠-٦٠ دقيقة للجلسة الواحدة, بمعدل جلستين أسبوعيا لمدة ١٢ أسبوعا. وقد تم تقييم كل مريضة باستخدام أداة مقياس الألم و أداة تقييم الإعتلال العصبي الطرفي الناتج عن العلاج الكيميائي لتقييم أعراض الإعتلال العصبي والأنشطة الوظيفية قبل وبعد ١٢ أسبوعا من بروتكول العلاج. أظهرت النتائج أنه يوجد تحسن كبير فى مقياس الألم و نقاط عناصر أعراض الإعتلال العصبي الطرفي فى مجموعة الدراسة بالمقارنة مع المجوعة الظابطة مع نسب التحسن ٥٩.٧٤ % ، ٢٢.٥٥% ،٤٦.٦٦% على التوالي لمجموعة الدراسة و ١ ٧. ٣١%، ١٧.٢٢%، ٨٢.٣٤% على التوالي للمجموعة الظابطة. وعليه يمكن أستنتاج أن برنامج التدريب الحسي الحركى يعتبر فعال فى تحسين أعراض الإعتلال العصبي والتوازن والأنشطة الوظيفية فى السيدات المصابات بسرطان الثدي اللآتى كن تعالجن بالعلاج الكيميائي المسبب للإعتلال العصبي الطرفي. |
