Summary, etc. | Over the recent years, there has been an increased demand of<br/>spectacle independence for both intermediate and near vision. Standard<br/>monofocal lenses allow the patient‘s vision to focus at only one distance (i.e.<br/>distance or near). Multiple studies demonstrated that both multifocal and EDOF<br/>IOLs provide good intermediate and near vision , however , comparative studies<br/>found that while multifocal IOLs generally have better results regarding near<br/>vision , EDOF IOLs show better results in terms of intermediate vision and<br/>contrast sensitivity.<br/>Purpose: We aimed to compare the visual performance of the extended depth<br/>of focus intraocular lens ; AcrySof™ IQ Vivity™ and the hybrid extended<br/>depth of focus intraocular lens TECNIS Synergy™ (regarding Uncorrected and<br/>corrected monocular distance and intermediate and near visual acuity and the<br/>range of vision (using defocus curve) ), contrast sensitivity (objectively through<br/>the modulation transfer function curves) and the Photic phenomena (objectively<br/>expressed through the effect on total higher ocular aberration) which were<br/>measured using the Itrace (Houston, Texas ,U.S.A.).<br/>Methods: This is a prospective comparative case series , that took place in 2<br/>private eye centers , in the period between November 2021 to August 2023. 34<br/>eyes of 20 patients were enrolled in this study, patients who are candidates for<br/>cataract extraction by phacoemulsification were included in this study and<br/>underwent thorough preoperative examination and post-operative evaluation at 3<br/>months, of distance, intermediate and near visual acuity , defocus curves were<br/>analyzed. Moreover, the internal HOA and MTF were measured using the<br/>iTRACE.<br/>Results: A total of 34 eyes of 20 patients were included in this study.<br/>Monocular distance visual acuity outcomes were excellent in both study groups<br/>achieving mean UCDVA and BCDVA of 0.09 LogMAR & 0.04 LogMAR in<br/>the TECNIS Synergy™ group and 0.14 LogMAR & 0.09 LogMAR in the<br/>the AcrySof™ IQ Vivity™ with no statistically significant difference .The<br/>intermediate vision was comparable in both groups where the mean UCIVA &<br/>DCIVA were 0.12 LogMAR & 0.09 LogMAR in the TECNIS Synergy™<br/>group and 0.14 LogMAR & 0.07 LogMAR in the AcrySof™ IQ Vivity™<br/>group with no statistically significant difference . The near visual acuity was<br/>significantly better in the TECNIS synergy group with a mean UCNVA and<br/>DCNVA of 0.14 LogMAR &0.09 LogMAR in the TECNIS Synergy™ group<br/>and 0.33 LogMAR &0.31 LogMAR in the the AcrySof™ IQ Vivity™ group.<br/>Regarding the defocus curve , visual acuity was maintained above 0.2 LogMAR<br/>throughout the curve from distance through near in the Tecnis SYNERGY . On<br/>the other hand , in the AcrySof™ IQ Vivity™ group , the visual acuity was<br/>nearly maintained at 0.1 LogMAR in the range between 0 D and -1.00 D and a<br/>sharp decline at -2.0 D from 0.2 LogMAR to 0.4 LogMAR at -3.0 D .The mean<br/>MTF value (at frequency = 10 HZ ) was 0.42 in the TECNIS Synergy™<br/>group and in the the AcrySof™ IQ Vivity™ group was 0.27 with a non -<br/>statistically significant difference .The mean total internal HOA was<br/>0.32 μm in the TECNIS Synergy™ group and in the the AcrySof™ IQ<br/>Vivity™ group was 0.27 μm with a non -statistically significant difference |

Summary, etc. | فائدة عملية إزالة المياه البيضاء هي استعادة حدة الإبصار كما هي بالنسبة للعدسة الطبيعية واستخدام العدسات ذات البؤرة الواحدة يمكن أن يعوض حدة الإبصار المطلوبة للمسافة البعيدة، ولكن يحتاج أن يصاحبه استخدام النظارات الطبية لتعويض حدة الإبصار للمسافة المتوسطة والقريبة، وباستخدام العدسات متعددة البؤر فإن هذه العدسات قد توفر حدة الإبصار المطلوبة للمسافة المتوسطة والقريبة، ولكن غالبا ما يصاحبه بعض الأعراض الجانبية والظواهر البصرية التي تؤثر على حساسية التباين.<br/> تتزايد انواع العدسات التي يتم زراعتها داخل العين التي تستخدم في اصلاح قصر البصر الشيخوخي من اجل التخلص من استخدام النظارة بعد عمليات المياه البيضاء .<br/> عدسة التكنس سينرجي (شركة جونسون و جونسون) هي عدسة مهجنة بين تصميم العدسات متعددة البؤرة و العدسات ممتدة ابؤرة لتتمكن من الحصول علي رؤية ممتدة و ذات تباين عالي من المسافة البعيد حتي المسافة القريبة تم طرحها حديثا في الاسواق .<br/>علي الصعيد الاخرعدسة الاكريسوف اي كيو فيفيتي هي عدسة ممتدة البؤرة و التي قد تم طرحها مؤخرا بالاسواق . و هي اول عدسة تعتمد علي تكنولوجيا الاكس ويف التي تعتمد علي امتداد الضوء و ليس تشتيته .<br/>الغرض من الرسالة :<br/>اجراء دراسة مقارنة للنتايج البصرية لكل من العدستين السينرجي و الفيفتي من حيث حدة الابصار علي مسافات (البعيدة و المتوسطة و القريبة) و قياس مدي الرؤية عن طريق القيام برسم انحاء اللا تبأورو `حساسية التباين و تقييم الظواهر البصرية المصاحبة بطريقة موضوعية عن طريق قياسهم بجاز الاي تريس .<br/>طرق البحث :<br/>متابعة 34 عين و 17 منهم قام بزراعة الفيفتي و 17 منهم قام بزراعة السينرجي .<br/>ملخص النتائج :<br/>حدة الإبصار البعيدة و المتوسطة كانت متماثلة احصائيا بالنسبة للعدستين بينما كانت العدسة السينرجي أفضل من حيث حدة الإبصارالقريبة وكانت حساسية التباين متماثلة احصائيا بالنسبة للعدستين <br/>و كذلك الظواهر البصرية المصاحبة<br/> |
