The 1970s and 1980s were remarkable times that witnessed an exponential surge in the practice of the feminist critical notion of ‘re-vision’. Contending with the dominant canonical narratives and works, namely religious scriptures, standard historical accounts and particularly myths, feminist writers ventured into an extensive scheme of feminist revision. Aiming to subvert the hegemony of patriarchy, they questioned the female characters’ submissive, peripheral and invisible positions in these narratives to recover women’s stories, voices and agency. Concomitantly, African Americans, Native Americans and other American women of ethnic origin started creating mythopoetic literary works that reinvent and reweave their traditional mythology. By integrating and re-appropriating their traditional ethnic myths, American women of color seek to assert their dynamic ethnic subjectivity, dispute the dominant stereotypes and thwart their monolithic representation in mainstream white America. While a number of studies have investigated Western white women writers’ subversion and revision of Greco-Roman and Biblical myths in their fiction, very little research has been done on ethnic American women writers’ employment and revision of their own traditional mythology, especially in their poetry in a comparative form. Accordingly, this thesis analyses some selected poetic works of contemporary American ethnic women poets, these are: Mohja Kahf (1967- ) (Arab American), Audre Lorde (1934 -1992) (African American) and Joy Harjo (1951- ) (Native American). Thus, this research examines some of their selected poems as examples of revisionist poetry through which these three contemporary ethnic poets problematize the fundamental racist and sexist stereotypes that they have inherited from the patriarchal and Eurocentric white symbolic order. It shows how their revision disrupts and destabilizes these static narratives and conversely emphasizes their dynamic ethnic subjectivity. Moreover, the research explores how their revisionary poetry empowers their fellow ethnic Arab, African and Native American women and asserts their agency by repossessing their silenced, marginalized and excluded voices. |

شهدت السبعينيات والثمانينيات من القرن الماضي زيادة في ممارسة الفكرة النقدية النسوية «إعادة الرؤية» في مواجهة الخطابات المهيمنة والأعمال الدينية ، منها الكتب الدينية المقدسة ، والروايات التاريخية القياسية، بالإضافة الى الأساطير. فقد قامت كاتبات ما بعد الحداثة بشن حملة تنقيح نسوية واسعة النطاق وأعدن كتابة هذه الروايات المركزية كنصوص جديدة من خلال منظورهن النسوى . كما تمكنت تلك الكاتبات من تفكيك هذه الروايات القياسية وإعادة النظر في مكانة الشخصيات النسائية التي طالما كانت تصور على هيئة شخصيات خاضعة او غير مرئية. كما شرعت الكاتبات في كشف الهيمنة الأبوية واستعادة قصص النساء وأصواتهن. و عندما ننظر إلى الأساطير، على وجه التحديد، ف سوف نجدها أنها قصص قوية ومحرك ثقافي كما انها تعتبر قصص نموذجية للإنسانية. ولهذا ,فقد ركزت الكاتبات البيض الغربيات في الغالب على مراجعة وإعادة كتابة الأساطير اليونانية الرومانية وذلك لادراكًهن لمكانتها البارزة كدعامة أساسية للثقافة.<br/>في الوقت نفسه، بدأ الأمريكيون الأفارقة والأمريكيون الأصليون وغيرهم من النساء الأمريكيات من أصل عرقي في كتابة أعمال أسطورية تعيد مزج أساطيرهم التقليدية وإعادة نسجها. وتهدف النساء الأمريكيات ذوات البشرة الملونة من خلال دمج أساطيرهم العرقية التقليدية إلى تأكيد ذاتهن العرقية، بالإضافة إلى التشكيك فى صورهن السائدة في أمريكا البيضاء. وفي حين أنه يوجد عددًا من الدراسات التى بحثت في مراجعة الكاتبات البيض الغربيات للأساطير اليونانية الرومانية في أعمالهم القصصية، فقد تم اجراء القليل جدًا من الأبحاث حول توظيف الكاتبات الامريكيات من أصل عرقى ومراجعة أساطيرهن التقليدية في شعرهن، و خاصة في شكل مقارن. وفقًا لذلك، تحلل هذه الأطروحة بعض الأعمال الشعرية المختارة للشاعرات الأمريكييات المعاصرات مهجة قحف (أمريكية عربية) و اودرى لورد (أمريكية من أصل أفريقي) و جوى هارجو (أمريكية أصلية)، كأمثلة على الشعر الذي يدمج ويعيد مزج و احياء الأساطير التقليدية المختلفة التي تتعلق بثقافاتهم العرقية. تبحث هذه الدراسة في زعزعة استقرار الصور النمطية العنصرية والجنسية الأساسية التي ورثوها عن النظام الرمزي الأبوي والأوروبي من خلال الاحتفاء بأساطيرهم العرقية التقليدية وإعادة النظر فيها, وذلك في مواجهة الخطابات النسوية البيضاء والاستعمارية والأبوية البيضاء. كما يوضح البحث قيام هؤلاء الشاعرات بتحدي التصوير النمطي للمرأة العرقية، وضرورة التوقف عن هذه الروايات المهيمنة.كما يهدف البحث الى توضيح كيف يستخدمون شعرهم كاداة إلى تمكين زملائهم من النساء العربيات والأفارقة والأمريكيات الأصليين، بالإضافة إلى تأكيد وكالتهن وإعادة تفعيل أصواتهن الصامتة والمهمشة والمستبعدة. |
