| Summary, etc. | Background: Mycosis fungoides (MF) is the most common type of primary cutaneous T-cell lymphomas (CTCL) with its etiology not yet fully understood. Interleukin (IL)-35 is an inhibitory cytokine that belongs to the IL-12 family. High plasma levels of IL‐35 and elevated expression of it in the tumor microenvironment increase tumorigenesis and indicate poor prognosis in different types of malignancies. <br/>Aim of the Work: The aim of this study is to estimate the expression levels of IL-35 in tissue and serum of MF patients versus healthy controls. <br/>Patients and Methods: This case-control study included 35 patients with patch, plaque, and tumor MF as well as 30 healthy controls. Patients were fully assessed, Serum samples and lesional skin biopsies were taken prior to starting treatment. The IL-35 levels were measured in both serum and tissue biopsies by Enzyme Linked Immuno-Sorbent Assay (ELISA) technique. <br/>Results: Both tissue and serum IL-35 levels were significantly higher in MF patients than in controls (P < 0.001) and tissue IL-35 was significantly higher than serum IL-35 in MF patients (P < 0.001). Tissue IL-35 was significantly higher in female patients and patients with recurrent MF compared to male patients and those without recurrent disease (P < 0.001).<br/>Conclusion: Both tissue and serum IL-35 levels are increased in MF. IL-35 is suggested to have a possible role in MF pathogenesis. IL-35 can be a useful diagnostic marker for MF. Tissue IL-35 can be also an indicator for disease recurrence. |

| Summary, etc. | الأورام اللمفاوية التائية الجلدية هي مجموعة غير متجانسة من الأورام اللمفاوية اللاهودجكينية، والتي يشكل مرض الفطر الفطرانى حوالي 50% منها. يظهر معظم المرضى الذين يعانون من الفطار الفطراني في مرحلتي البقعة واللويحات، ولا يتقدم سوى عدد قليل من الحالات إلى مرحلة الورم. غالبًا ما يكون للفطر الفطراني مسار طويل وخامل. إنترلوكين 35 هو سيتوكين مثبط للمناعة ينتمي إلى عائلة إنترلوكين 12. يتكون إنترلوكين 35 من وحدتين فرعيتين p35 وجين يسببه فيروس إبشتاين-بار 3. أظهرت العديد من أنواع السرطان مستويات عالية من إنترلوكين 35 والذي يرتبط بزيادة تكوين الأورام وسوء التشخيص.<br/>وبناء على ذلك، أجريت هذه الدراسة للحالات والشواهد لتقييم مستوى الإنترلوكين 35 في أنسجة ومصل مرضى الفطر الفطراني مقارنة بالأصحاء. تم تسجيل 35 مريضًا يعانون من الفطريات الفطرية في مرحلة البقعة واللويحات والورم، والتي تم تشخيصها مؤخرًا عن طريق خزعة الجلد، في الدراسة و30 من الأشخاص الاصحاء. تم أخذ عينات من بلازما الدم والجلد قبل بدء العلاج.<br/>كان تركيز إنترلوكين35 في كل من الأنسجة والبلازما أعلى بكثير في مرضى الفطر الفطراني منه في الأصحاء وكان مستوى إنترلوكين 35 في الأنسجة أعلى بكثير من مستواه في البلازما في مرضى الفطر الفطراني. أيضًا، تم العثور على كلاهما كعلامات تشخيصية مهمة للفطريات الفطرية باستخدام منحنى خاصية مشغل المستقبل. كان مستوى الإنترلوكين 35 أعلى بشكل ملحوظ في المرضى الإناث والمرضى الذين يعانون من تكرار المرض مقارنة بالمرضى الذكور وأولئك الذين لا يعانون من تكرار المرض. |
