| Summary, etc. | Pesticide residue levels were determined in 200 citrus samples collected from local markets in many governorates in Egypt. Gas chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry (GC-MS/MS) were used to evaluate the samples after they had been extracted using the QuEChERS technique. Seventeen pesticides were detected and evaluated for violations against maximum residue limits (MRL) set by Codex Alimentarius and the EU. Imazalil was the most detected pesticide in orange (33%), mandarin (34%), and lemon (20%). While chlorpyrifos was the most pesticide to exceed its MRL value in orange (40%), mandarin (54%), and lemon (40%).<br/>A Newley-developed method on GC-MS/MS for the seventeen pesticides detected was validated, and the studied validation parameters fulfilled the validation parameters set by DG-SANTE guidelines.<br/>The health risk was assessed by the estimation of the health hazard index (HI), where all the hazard index of the detected pesticide residues was lower than the permitted limit, which shows that pesticide residues in citrus would not pose a serious threat to public health.<br/>The reduction effect of the four processing treatments (washing, peeling, juicing, and heating) on the seventeen pesticides was studied, and data analysis was performed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Tukey’s pairwise comparison test. where the p-value was less than 0.05 for all studied pesticides, which indicated that there was a significant difference among the four processing treatments and the reduction effect wasn’t the same for the 4 studied processing treatments.<br/> |

| Summary, etc. | تم تحديد مستويات بقايا المبيدات في 200 عينة حمضيات تم جمعها من الأسواق المحلية عبر العديد من المحافظات في مصر. تم استخلاص العينات باستخدام طريقة QuEChERS وتحليلها باستخدام كروماتوغرافيا الغاز إلى جانب قياس الطيف الكتلي الترادفي GC-MS/MS تم الكشف عن 17 مبيد آفات وتقييمها لانتهاكها مقابل الحدود القصوى للمخلفات (MRL) التي وضعتها هيئة الدستور الغذائي والاتحاد الأوروبي. كان imazalil أكثر المبيدات المكتشفة في البرتقال 33% واليوسفي 28% والليمون 20% في حين chlorpyrifos كان أكثر مبيدات الآفات التي تجاوزت قيمتها (MRL) في البرتقال 40% واليوسفي 54% والليمون40%، تم التحقق من صحة طريقة تحليل مطورة على GC-MS/MS لمبيدات الآفات ال 17 المكتشفة واستوفت معايير التحقق التي حددتها إرشادات DG-SANTE. تم تقييم المخاطر الصحية من خلال تقدير مؤشر المخاطر (HI)حيث كان مؤشر المخاطر الصحية لجميع متبقيات مبيدات الآفات المكتشفة أقل من الحد المسموح به مما يشير إلى أن بقايا مبيدات الآفات في الحمضيات لا يمكن اعتبارها مشكلة صحية عامة رئيسية. تمت دراسة تأثير الاختزال للغسيل والتقشير والعصر والتسخين على 17 مبيد حشري وتم إجراء تحليل البيانات باستخدام تحليل التباين (ANOVA) واختبار المقارنة الزوجية ل Tukey حيث كانت القيمة الاحتمالية اقل من 0,05 لجميع المبيدات تحت الدراسة مما يشير إلى وجود فرق كبير بين 4 عمليات المعالجة. |
