| Summary, etc. | The aim of the study was to investigate the effect of using percussion <br/>massage gun on Hamstring flexibility, pain intensity, ROM and Function <br/>in patients with knee OA. All patients were referred by orthopedic surgeons <br/>who diagnosed knee OA based on clinical and radiological examination.<br/>Forty-two patients of both genders selected from Outpatient Clinic <br/>of Faculty of Physical Therapy, Pharos University, Alexandria, Egypt.<br/>With moderate tibiofemoral OA with age range from 45 to 60 years were <br/>randomly assigned into 2 groups with 21 subjects in each group.<br/>Patients of group (A) control group received traditional training <br/>exercises including stretching and strengthening of the lower limb muscles <br/>for a total of 12 treatment sessions (3 sessions per week) for 4 weeks.<br/>Patients of group (B) experimental group received the same <br/>exercises as in the traditional therapy group with addition to percussion <br/>massage through percussion massage gun for 5 min for a total of 12 <br/>treatment sessions (3 sessions per week) for 4 weeks.<br/>Hamstrings muscle flexibility was assessed using sit and reach test, <br/>intensity of pain was assessed by VAS, ROM was assessed using electronic <br/>goniometer in active knee extension test and knee joint function was <br/>assessed using the Arabic version of WOMAC questionnaire. All patients <br/>were assessed before and after the completion of the treatment programs.<br/> |

| Summary, etc. | تم تقسيم 42 مريضا، من كلا الجنسين والذين يعانون من التهاب المفاصل الخفيف في الركبة إلى مجموعتين من واحد وعشرين مريضا بشكل عشوائي. تلقت المجموعة (أ) : برنامج متكون من تمارين العلاج الطبيعي الاعتيادية و التي تتضمن تقوية وتمديد عضلات الأطراف السفلية لمدة أربعة أسابيع ثلاث مرات في الأسبوع المجموعة (ب): تلقت نفس التمرين الذي تلقته المجموعة أ بالإضافة إلى جهاز العلاج الطرقي على العضلة الخلفية 3 جلسات أسبوعياً لمدة 4 أسابيع، اساليب التقييم : اختبار الجلوس و الوصول الي اصابع القدم لتقييم مرونة العضلة الخلفية ، استخدام المقياس البصري التناظري (VAS) لتحديد مستوى شدة الألم ،استخدام مقياس الزوايا الرقمي لقياس مدى حركة مفصل الركبة و تقييم الاداء الوظيفي عن طريق استخدام النسخة العربية من استمارة وماك . الاستنتاج: أظهرت النتائج ان جهاز العلاج الطرقي يساعد في علاج آلام الركبة والمرونة ومدي الحركة والوظيفة لدى الأشخاص المصابين بخشونة في الركبة.<br/><br/> |
