| Summary, etc. | Thirty children with ataxia (grade 15-30 on SARA Scale) after MB resection <br/>participated in this study. Subjects were divided into two groups, fifteen in each <br/>group. The study group received dual task program and selected physical therapy <br/>and the control group selected physical therapy for 8 weeks.<br/>Selection of the samples, evaluation and treatment program were conducted <br/>in Children Cancer Hospital Egypt 57357. All children with ataxia were assessed <br/>before and after the intervention program by the selective scale (Pediatric Balance <br/>Scale, Functional Independent measurements and tests related to balance on humac<br/>balance system. <br/>The control group received the therapeutic exercise program based on <br/>neurodevelopmental approach and pelvic stability program whereas the study <br/>group received dual task training program in addition to the same therapeutic <br/>exercise program of control group. The treatment program was conducted for both <br/>groups once three times weekly over a period of eight weeks. <br/>The collected data were statistically analyzed using MANOVA. The results <br/>of the present study revealed A notable improvement in posture stability and <br/>balance was found in dual-task group in Pediatric balance scale, Tests of Humac <br/>112<br/>(Mobility test, stability test, Weight shift Score and a notable reduction in weight <br/>shift time). There was no discernible difference observed in Functional <br/>Independent measurement score among the two groups although there was a <br/>statistically significant increase in both groups after treatment and there was not <br/>notable improvement in MCTSIB and coordination test of Humac between two <br/>groups.<br/>CONCLUSION<br/>From the obtained results of this study, it can be concluded that dual task <br/>training program can be used to improve balance in children with ataxia after <br/>medulloblastoma resection. It can be added as an additional therapeutic modality in <br/>the rehabilitation program of such children. <br/>RECOMMENDATIONS<br/>Based on the results of this study the following recommendations are <br/>needed.<br/> Research on different strategies to improve balance in children after MB <br/>resection. <br/> Conduct studies aiming to investigate the effect of dual task program on <br/>gait abnormalities in children with ataxia after MB resection.<br/> Conduct studies aiming to investigate the effect of dual task program on <br/>children with severe ataxia (grade 30-40 on SARA).<br/> Adding dual task training program to the rehabilitation program of <br/>children with ataxia after MB resection according to the results of this <br/>study. <br/> |

| Summary, etc. | أهداف البحث:الورم الأرومي النخاعي هو أكثر أورام الحفرة الخلفية شيوعًا عندالاطفال ويعتبرالاستئصال الآمن الأقصىهوالخط الأولي من العلاج. نتيجة لذلك، ستكون هناك أعراض ترنح وفقدان التوازن،يُظهر الترنح المخيخي تدهورًا تدريجيًا في التنسيق الحركيحتى الآنمما يؤدي إلى عدمالتحكم في الوضع وعجز التوازن و حيث ان المخيخ مسؤول عن التوازن والذاكرة العاملة ، لذلك في الاورام المخيخية، يؤدي تدريب الدماغ على التوازن والمهام المزدوجة إلى جعل التوازن تلقائيًا أكثر من التدريب غير مزدوج المهام .الهدف من هذه الدراسة هو تقييم تأثير استخدام برنامج تدريب ثنائي المهام المختار لتحسين الاستقرار والتوازن لدى الأطفال المصابين بالترنح بعد استئصال الورم الأرومي النخاعي.<br/>طرق البحث: شارك في هذه الدراسة ثلاثون مريضًا. تم اختيارهم حسب مقياس تقييم وتصنيف الترنح وتم تصنيف المرضى بشكل عشوائي إلى مجموعتين متساويتين: مجموعة الدراسة والمراقبة تلقت كلتا المجموعتينبرنامج للعلاج الطبيعي مختارا بما في ذلك تمارين الحركة والتوازن والتدريب على المشي. بالإضافة إلى ذلك، تلقت مجموعة الدراسة برنامجًا مزدوج المهام بما في ذلك التوازن والأنشطة المعرفية. تم إجراء البرنامج العلاجي لكلا المجموعتين ثلاثة أيام في الأسبوع لمدة ثمانية أسابيع متتالية. تم تقييم المرضى قبل وبعد التدخل العلاجي باستخدامجهاز الهيوماك ومقياس توازن الأطفال والقياس الوظيفي المستقل. تم تسجيل النتائج قبل وبعد التدخل العلاج.<br/>النتائج: أوضحت النتائج تطورا ملحوظا في الاتزان في المجموعتين، ولكن بدرجة أكبر في المجموعة (ب) في اختبارين مقياس التوازن للأطفال واختبارات جهاز الهيوماك (اختبار الاستقرار، اختبار الحركة، اختبارازاحة الوزن)كما ان وقت ازاحة الوزن قل أكثر في مجموعة المهام المزدوجة، ولكن لا يوجد اختلاف في اختبار نشاطات الحياة اليومية بين المجموعتين وبالرغم من التحسن في كلا المجموعتين. ولا يوجد تحسن في اختبار التوافق الحركي واختبار الاتزان التحسبي والعين مفتوحة ومغلقةبين المجموعتين.<br/>الاستنتاجات: برنامج مزوج المهام أفضل من البرنامج العادي في حالات اختلال الاتزان.<br/> |
