Summary, etc. | The primary objective of this scientific inquiry entails the application, analysis, and <br/>advancement of the Load and Resistance Factors Design (LRFD) technique for <br/>continuous flight auger pile foundations in Damietta, Egypt. For this, a comprehensive <br/>assessment utilizes data from a recently established database containing information <br/>from 142 static pile load tests (SPLTs). Determining resistance factors is carried out for <br/>distinct groups of piles, considering factors such as pile type, soil profile, and other <br/>pertinent static variables. The calibration of the LRFD framework, rooted in reliability <br/>theory (First Order Second Moment method, FOSM) and Monte-Carlo simulation <br/>(MCS), is undertaken to ensure the reliability-based evaluation of the resistance factors. <br/>Furthermore, an array of criteria for ascertaining ultimate pile capacity is deliberated <br/>within the framework of design recommendations. For validating the measured capacity <br/>of the piles, the investigation is broadened to examine the reliability of the SPLT <br/>results. <br/>Consequently, resistance factors associated with a desired probability of failure are <br/>established and correlated with the number of SPLTs performed at each site. This <br/>method effectively accounts for variations in in-situ soil conditions and the integrity of <br/>pile installation. The significant discoveries yielded by this study are succinctly <br/>summarized herein:<br/>1. Compared with the EGYPT database resistance factors, a substantial increase in <br/>the newly calibrated resistance and efficiency factors was observed mainly in <br/>Clay soil condition compared with Mixed soil condition.<br/>2. On average, MCS yields resistance factors that are 13% higher than those from <br/>FOSM. As a result, it can be deduced that FOSM represents the most <br/>conservative calibration approach.<br/>3. The current study showed a decrease in resistance factors from (β=2.33) to <br/>(β=3.0) by an average of 20-40%, consistent with worldwide codes.<br/>4. Construction control efficiency increases by increasing the number of SPLTs on <br/>the site, and the resistance factor is almost equal for different measurement<br/>methods.<br/>5. The new resistance factors decrease the % P. Error for each code and closer the <br/>% P. Error of the Egyptian code with the international codes.<br/>6. The new resistance factors are close to Allen's 2005 specifications and reports,<br/>such as NCHRP 507 for clay. |

Summary, etc. | الغرض الرئيسي من هذه الدراسة هو التحقق من استخدام أسلوب تصميم عوامل الحمل والمقاومة "LRFD” على خوازيق الحفر الدوار المستمرة "CFA" وهي الأكثر استخدامًا في مصر. في هذه الدراسة تم تطبيق معاملات الحمل والمقاومة الموجودة في قاعدة البيانات المحلية والدولية على الدراسة الحالية والتي تحتوي على أكثر من 142 اختبار على الخوازيق تم إجراؤها في موقع واحد في محافظة دمياط ويتكون من أكثر من 55 صالة تم تنفيذها على خوازيق من النوع CFA.وتم حفظ وترتيب البيانات وفقًا لكل من نوع الخازوق والتربة، وتم تحديد قدرة تحمل الخازوق القصوى باستخدام الطرق المختلف المتاحة في الكود المصري والاكواد العالمية مثل AASHTO-2007 وFHWA (2010) ، كما تم حسابها أيضا بتحليل اختبار التحميل للخوازيق الاستاتيكية. وتضمنت هذه الدراسة معيارين: 1) نسبة الخطأ 2) معامل التحيز، لملاحظة ما إذا كان نهج عوامل الحمل والمقاومة أكثر اقتصادية وكفاءة من طريقة التصميم بالإجهادات المسموحة. واتضح من النتائج أن طريقة التصميم بالإجهادات المسموحة أكثر اقتصادية وكفاءة، لذلك كانت الحاجة إلى تطوير معاملات الحمل والمقاومة في الدراسة الحالية. وبناءا عليه تم إجراء إطار معايرة عوامل مقاومة LRFD الجديد وفقًا لتوصية AASHTO وبناءً على نظرية الموثوقية ومحاكاة مونت كارلو، وامتدت الدراسة أيضًا لتشمل عوامل المقاومة التي تقيم موثوقية اختبار التحميل الاستاتيكى للخازوق نفسه اعتمادًا على درجة اختلاف الموقع وعدد الاختبارات التي أجريت لكل صالة في الموقع. وأخيرا أظهرت تلك النتائج المتحصل عليها ان عوامل مقاومة LRFD الجديدة والمستخدمة على الخوازيق في هذه الدراسة أكثر اقتصادية وكفاءة من طريقة التصميم بالإجهادات المسموحة.<br/><br/> |
