| Summary, etc. | This study was conducted to investigate the influence of combined <br/>Kinsiotaping and proprioceptive training on knee pain, function and <br/>proprioception in patients with knee OA. <br/>It was conducted on thirty-six patients suffering from knee <br/>osteoarthritis participated in this study and their ages ranged from 45 to <br/>65 years old. <br/>The individuals were sent to our clinic for outpatient at Damanhur <br/>Medical National Institute by the Damanhur orthopedic Center. They <br/>were diagnosed clinically by physician as patients with knee OA. The <br/>study extended from April 2023 to September 2023. <br/>The patients’ pain was moderate to sever and VAS more than 3. In <br/>this study the patients were randomly assigned into two groups equal in <br/>number (18 patients for each group). (Group A) each patient in this group <br/>received proprioceptive exercises and sham taping on knee joint for <br/>placebo. Exercises used for 30 to 45 minutes 2 times per week for 4 <br/>weeks. While Group (B) received kinesio taping and proprioceptive <br/>exercises on knee joint for 30 to 45 minutes 2 times per week for 4 <br/>weeks. Pain was measured by using VAS and functional level of the knee <br/>through Arabic version of Functional outcome measure (KOOS) <br/>(Appendix Ⅲ). Then proprioception was assessed by digital goniometer. <br/>Patients were not aware of group allocation and application of other <br/>groups to keep blindness. The results of this study revealed that there was <br/>a significant decrease in VAS post treatment in both groups in favor to <br/>group B. Also, there was a statistical significant increase of KOOS in <br/>61 <br/>both groups in favor to group B. There was a statistical significant <br/>decrease of JPS error at 30 and at 60 in both groups in favor to group B. <br/>Conclusion <br/>Based on the scope and findings of this study: <br/> Combined proprioception training and KT had a positive effect <br/>on patients with knee OA in improvement of pain, function and <br/>proprioception (active JPS). <br/>Recommendations <br/>At the end of this study, the following recommendations are to be <br/>considered: <br/>1) Further researches are needed to be applied for application of KT <br/>on different musculoskeletal disorder. <br/>2) Further researches are needed to be applied with different knee <br/>disorders. <br/>3) Further researches are needed to be applied for application of KT <br/>combined OKC. <br/>Limitations: <br/>Limitations of this study may include: <br/>1) A relatively short taping course and follow up for a chronic <br/>condition. <br/>2) Another limitation the KT technique results depend on the brand <br/>of the tape used in the study. |

| Summary, etc. | تم تضمين 36 مريض ممن يعانون من الالتهاب المفصلى العظمى للركبة من كلا الجنسين فى هذه الرسالة.حيث تتراوح اعمارهم بين (45-65) عام . تم تقييم الالم من خلال مقياس الالم التناظرى البصري و قياس اعاقة الوظيفة من خلال النسخة العربية لاستبيان خاص بتقييم الحالة الصحية للركبة و تم تقييم الحس العميق للركبة من خلال جهازديجيتال لقياس الزوايا خلال هذه الدراسة المرضى قسموا عشوائيا الى مجموعتين كل مجموعة تحتوى على ثمانية عشر مريض .المجموعة (أ) و هى المجموعة الضابطة حيث ان كل مريض فى هذه المجموعة يتلقى تمارين التدريب التحسسي و لاصقة وهمية لمفصل الركبة و مدة التمارين من (30-45) دقيقة مرتين اسبوعيا و لمدة 4 اسبيع. بينما المجموعة (ب) و هى مجموعة الدراسة حيث ان كل مريض فى هذه المجموعة يتلقى لاصقة كنسيو بالاضافة الى نفس تمارين الدريب التحسسى على مفصل الركبة و مدة التمارين من (30-45) دقيقة مرتين اسبوعيا و لمدة 4 اسابيع |
