| Summary, etc. | Since 31 December 2019, the world has suffered from COVID-19 pandemic, resulting in governments’ interventions to mitigate the pandemic’s severe impact not only on the health care sector but rather on almost all sectors. Many studies investigated the pandemic’s impact on employment in different countries using different perspectives to capture the economic consequences of COVID-19 on labour market and employment.<br/>This thesis focuses on investigating the impact of COVID-19 on Quality of Employment (QoE) of Egyptian wage workers in 2020. The QoE index has been constructed using the Alkire and Foster methodology. The QoE index consists of three dimensions, which are: Income and benefits from employment, Security of employment, and Employment conditions, where each dimension is assessed using two indicators, covering different aspects of employment quality. The labour force survey conducted by CAPMAS has been used to construct QoE index and study the main determinants of QoE in Egypt in 2020 using the Zero-inflated Poisson model, where indicators related to COVID-19 pandemic are included in the model. Also, the labour force survey data for 2019 has been used to assess quality of employment of Egyptian wage workers. Moreover, the aggregate as well as indicators’ specific deprivations in 2019 and 2020 have been compared to spot the differences in QoE between 2019 and 2020. Furthermore, the Zero-inflated Poisson model has been used to specify the main determinants of quality of employment in 2019. |

| Summary, etc. | لقد عانى العالم بأكمله من جائحة فيروس كورونا منذ اليوم الحادي والثلاثين من ديسمبر لسنة 2019, ونتيجة لذلك حاولت الحكومات التدخل لمواجهه الاضرار الشديدة لتلك الجائحة ليس فقط على القطاع الطبي، ولكن لكل القطاعات، وأجريت العديد من الدراسات لدراسة واستكشاف التأثير الاقتصادي لتلك الجائحة على سوق العمل.<br/>تركز هذه الرسالة على دراسة تأثير فيروس كورونا المستجد علي جودة العمل في مصر لسنة 2020 باستخدام نموذج البواسون ذي الأصفار الزائدة، حيث تم بناء دليل لجودة العمل متعدد الابعاد من ثلاث ابعاد وتم استخدامه لتحديد المحددات الأساسية لجودة العمل للعاملين المصريين بأجر في عام 2020. كما تم استخدام بيانات استبيان القوى العاملة لعام 2019 لتقييم جودة العمل للعاملين بأجر في مصر. بالإضافة إلى ذلك، تم مقارنة نسبة العاملين بأجر الذين يعانون من حرمان من دليل جودة العمل وأيضا تم مقارنة نسب العاملين بأجر الذين يعانون من حرمان من كل مؤشر من مؤشرات دليل جودة العمل في عامي 2019 و2020 لرصد الفروق في جودة العمل للعاملين المصريين بين العامين. وعلاوة على ذلك، تم استخدام نموذج البواسون ذي الأصفار الزائدة لتحديد العوامل الرئيسية لجودة العمل في عام 2019. |
