| Summary, etc. | Introduction: Frozen shoulder is a condition with a functional restriction of both active and passive shoulder motions for which radiographs of the glenohumeral joint are normal. There are different methods of managing frozen shoulder. It is a stiff condition that requires flexible decision.<br/>Patients and methods: A comparative randomized controlled study (RCT) was conducted on 60 patients who had primary frozen shoulder. Each group included 30 patients; group (A) underwent 360 degrees arthroscopic release via extra articular approach, group (B) underwent manipulation under general anaesthesia using the Codman’s paradox method.<br/>Results: After 3 months follow up; there was no statistically significant difference between both groups regarding range of motion, Oxford, UCLA and VAS scores.<br/>Conclusion: Arthroscopic capsular release (ACR) is a safe yet technically demanding, time consuming, and costing more while manipulation under anaesthesia (MUA) is relatively less safe but technically less demanding, less time consuming however there is no statistically significant difference between both groups. |

| Summary, etc. | المرضى والطريقة:<br/>دراسة اكلينيكيه وصفية مستقبلية على ما يعادل 60 مريض فى الفترة من يناير 2017 إلى ديسمبر 2202 ، حيث أجريت بطريقة عشوائية محكومة باستخدام مظاريف غير شفافة محكمة الغلق لمقارنة النتيجة الوظيفية لفك التصاقات حافظة مفصل الكتف بالمنظار 360 درجة من خلال نهج جانبي خارج المفصل و عمل فتحه المنظار الاماميه تحت النظرمباشره مقابل تحريك مفصل الكتف تحت التخدير لفك الالتصاقات و ذلك لمرضي تجمد الكتف الأولي.<br/>تم تضمين ستين مريضا ممن يعانون من الكتف المتجمد الأولي في الدراسة و تم تقسيمهم إلى مجموعتينA, B.<br/>خضع مرضي المجموعة A لفك التصاقات حافظة مفصل الكتف بالمنظار 360 درجة من خلال نهج جانبي خارج المفصل ، بينما خضع مرضى المجموعة B لتحريك مفصل الكتف و تحرير مجال الحركة تحت التخدير العام وفقًا لمفهوم Codman المتناقض. |
