| Summary, etc. | Sixty-one participants were divided into two groups, groups A and B. Group A (n=31) PFPS with excess DKV. Group B (n=30) healthy participants with normal DKV. Dynamic knee valgus was examined by measuring the frontal plane projection angle using Kinovea software analysis. Surface electromyography was used to evaluate amplitude of soleus and tibialis anterior muscles during the descending phase of a single leg squat. PFPS with excess dynamic knee valgus exhibited lower EMG activity of the tibialis anterior and higher EMG activity of the soleus compared with healthy controls. |
