| Summary, etc. | Background: children with CP have sensory processing disabilities as well as motor problems, which lead to severe developmental disability. <br/>Objective: The purposes of this study were to asses 1- The relationship between the sensory processing abilities (as a total and all sub items that include seven section They are Tactile sensitivity, Taste/smell sensitivity, Movement sensitivity, Under-responsive/seeks sensation, Auditory Filtering, Low energy/Weak, Visual/Auditory sensitivity) and motor capabilities in children with cerebral palsy.<br/>2- Sensory processing abilities and motor capabilities based on CP subtypes. <br/>Subjects and methods: One hundred cerebral palsy children of both sex (55girls and 45 boys) were included in the study; their age ranged from 4-10 years. They were selected from pediatric out clinic of faculty of Physical Therapy Cairo University, fulfilling inclusion criteria. All children were assessed by Short sensory profile (SSP): to measure sensory processing ability, Gross Motor Function Classification System (GMFCS): to measure the gross motor skill and Manual Ability Classification System (MACS): to measure the fine motor skill.<br/>Result: a significantly correlation between GMFCS, MACS and (the total score of SSP and the sub items (Low energy weak, tactile sensitivity, Taste smell sensitivity, Movement sensitivity, and Under-responsive seeks sensation)), however, there were no significant correlations between both auditory filtering and Visual-auditory sensitivity with GMFCS and MACS. The findings of the study regarding SSP indicated that there was statistical variation among different CP types (P≤ 0.05*). The motor assessment outcomes indicated a statistical difference between the different CP types regarding the GMFCS and MACS (P≤ 0.05). <br/>Conclusion: It was concluded that there was significant correlation between sensory processing abilities and motor capabilities in children with cerebral palsy and there was statistical variation among different CP types regarding SSP and motor capabilities (the most significance variation between hemiplegic cerebral palsy and other types of cerebral palsy). |

| Summary, etc. | الخلفية: يعاني الأطفال المصابون بالشلل الدماغي من مشاكل في المعالجة الحسية بالإضافة إلى مشاكل حركية مما يؤدي إلى إعاقة نمائية شديدة.<br/> الهدف: الغرض من هذه الدراسة هو تقييم 1- ما إذا كانت هناك علاقة بين قدرات المعالجة الحسية (كعناصر كلية وفرعية) والقدرات الحركية لدى الأطفال المصابين بالشلل الدماغي. 2- قدرات المعالجة الحسية والقدرات الحركية على أساس الأنواع الفرعية للشلل الدماغى.<br/>المرضى وأساليب الدراسة: شملت الدراسة مائة طفل مصاب بالشلل الدماغي من كلا الجنسين(55 من الاناث و 45 من الذكور)؛ تراوحت اعمارهم بين 4-10 سنوات، وتم اختيارهم من العيادة الخارجية لتأهيل الأطفال بكلية العلاج الطبيعي جامعة القاهرة، مع استيفاء معايير الاشتمال. تم تقييم جميع الأطفال بواسطة الملف الحسي القصير (SSP)لقياس قدرة المعالجة الحسية، ونظام تصنيف الوظائف الحركية الإجمالية(GMFS) لقياس المهارات الحركية الإجمالية ونظام تصنيف القدرات اليدوية (MACS)لقياس المهارات الحركية الدقيقة. <br/>النتيجة: وجود علاقة قوية بشكل ملحوظ بين GMFCS وMACS ودرجة اجمالىSSP المنخفضة. وبالإضافة إلى ذلك، تم تحديد وجود علاقة ذات دلالة إحصائية بين GMFCS، MACS ودرجة حساسية اللمس . علاوة على ذلك، هناك علاقة ضعيفة بين GMFCS، MACS ودرجات حساسية التذوق والرائحة وحساسية الحركة ، ومع ذلك، لم تكن هناك ارتباطات مهمة بين كل من الترشيح السمعي والحساسية البصرية والسمعية مع GMFCS وMACS .<br/>أشارت نتائج الدراسة المتعلقة بال SSP إلى وجود تباين إحصائي بين أنواع الشلل الدماغى المختلفة (*p<0,05) أشارت نتائج التقييم الحركي إلى وجود فرق إحصائي بين أنواع الشلل الدماغى المختلفة فيما يتعلق GMFCS وMACS (P<0.05).<br/>الاستنتاج: تم التوصل إلى وجود علاقة ذات دلالة احصائية بين قدرات المعالجة الحسية والقدرات الحركية لدى الأطفال المصابين بالشلل الدماغي وكان هناك تباين احصائى بين انواع الشلل الدماغى المختلفة فيما يتعلق بال SSPوبالقدرات الحركية (الاختلاف الاكثر اهمية بين الشلل الدماغى الفلوجى والانواع الاخرى من الشلل الدماغى). |
