| Summary, etc. | Background: In today's changing health systems, it is imperative for nursing managers must be proficient in nursing informatics to make evidence-based decisions, which may ultimately lead to increase the organizational effectiveness. The study aims at examine the relationship between nursing informatics competencies and evidence-based decision-making use among nursing managers Study design: A descriptive correlational design was utilized in this study. Sample: A total of 97 nurse manager. Setting: This study was conducted at selected private hospital. Tools: Three tools were used to collect the study data as follows: (1) nurses manager’s personal and work-related data tool, (2) Nursing Informatics Competency Assessment Tool (NICAT) and (3) Evidence-Based Decision-Making (EBDM) Usage Questionnaire. Results: the main findings indicated that, more than one fifth (21.6%) of the study sample were proficient in total informatics competencies. Additionally, EBDM attitude and beliefs had the highest mean percentage (66.13%), EBDM skills had the lowest mean percentage (52.44%), and EBDM overall had a moderate level mean percentage (60.29%). A statistically significant strong positive correlation (r=0.628, p=0.00) between the overall informatics competencies and the overall evidence based decision making process skills was found. Conclusion: Nursing informatics competencies levels influence the study participants attitudes and abilities regarding the use of evidence-based decision making. Recommendations: Incorporate the nursing informatics qualification in the job descriptions of all nurse management levels and provide an environment that supports and allows the use of an effective evidence-based decision making process. |

| Summary, etc. | الخلفية: نظرا للتغير الذي تشهده انظمة الرعاية الصحية اليوم اصبح من الضروري أن يكون مديرو التمريض بارعين في استخدام المعلوماتية التمريضية والاعتماد عليها لاتخاذ قرارات مبنية على الأدلة، الأمر الذي قد يعود في النهائية بنتائج ايجابية علي الاداء الكلي للمؤسسة الصحية . تهدف الدراسة إلى دراسة العلاقة بين الكفاءات المعلوماتية التمريضية واستخدام اتخاذ القرار المبني على الأدلة بين مديري التمريض. تصميم الدراسة: تم استخدام التصميم الارتباطي الوصفي في هذه الدراسة. العينة: إجمالي 97 مدير ممرض. مكان الدراسة: أجريت هذه الدراسة في مستشفى خاص مختار. الأدوات: تم استخدام ثلاث أدوات لجمع بيانات الدراسة على النحو التالي: (1) أداة البيانات الشخصية والمتعلقة بالعمل لمدير التمريض. (2) أداة تقييم كفاءة معلوماتية التمريض. (3) استبيان استخدام اتخاذ القرار المبني على الأدلة . النتائج: أشارت أهم النتائج إلى أن أكثر من خمس أفراد عينة الدراسة (21.6%) كانوا بارعين في إجمالي الكفاءات المعلوماتية. بالإضافة إلى ذلك، كان لسلوكيات ومعتقدات مديري التمريض اتجاه اتخاذ القرار المبني علي الادلة أعلى نسبة متوسطة (66.13%)، وكانت مهارات اتخاذ القرار المبني علي الادلة أقل نسبة متوسطة (52.44%)، وكان لمهارات اتخاذ القرار المبني علي الادلة نسبة متوسطة المستوى (60.29%). تم العثور على علاقة إيجابية قوية ذات دلالة إحصائية (r = 0.628، p = 0.00) بين الكفاءات المعلوماتية الشاملة ومهارات عملية اتخاذ القرار المبنية على الأدلة الشاملة. الاستنتاج: تؤثر مستويات الكفاءات المعلوماتية التمريضية على اتجاهات وقدرات المشاركين في الدراسة فيما يتعلق باستخدام اتخاذ القرارات المبنية على الأدلة. التوصيات: دمج مؤهلات المعلوماتية التمريضية في التوصيف الوظيفي لجميع مستويات إدارة التمريض وتوفير بيئة تدعم وتسمح باستخدام عملية صنع القرار الفعالة القائمة على الأدلة. |
