| Summary, etc. | Background; Renal cystic diseases encompass a broad group of disorders with variable phenotypic expression. Cystic disorders can present during infancy, childhood, or adulthood. Often, but not always, they can be distinguished by the clinical features including age at presentation, renal imaging characteristics, including cyst distribution, and the presence/distribution of extrarenal manifestations, Aim and objectives; to Describe specific objectives or hypotheses behind the study) Clinical and Radiological categorization of cystic kidney disease in children, Subjects and methods: This was a Descriptive Cross-sectional study, seventy-nine pediatric patients with Cystic Kidney Disease following at Pediatric Nephrology Unit, in Abu elrish hospital, Cairo University Children Hospital during the study period (from 1 November 2021 till 30 April 2022). All subjects were subjected to: History, Abdominal examination, lab Investigation, and Abdominopelvic ultrasound, Result; There was statistical significant difference with positive correlation between lt.kidney width as regard Age, Rt.kidney length and Rt.kidney width, Conclusion; In conclusion, this study details the characteristics of renal cysts in pediatrics. Older age, male gender and larger body mass index associated with cysts ≥ 5 mm in the cortex and medulla. Obesity may lead to both larger cysts and impair the detection of very small cysts. Multiple cysts had larger cysts over 5 cm in diameter than the patients with single cyst. All renal cysts and masses, regardless of type, are associated with older age. |
