| Summary, etc. | Background: Lymphedema post mastectomy may lead to complications such as carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS). While Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT) is established for lymphedema management, its effects on CTS in this population are under-explored. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the therapeutic effects of CDT on carpal tunnel syndrome post upper limb lymphedema. Subjects and methods: 60 female patients aged 40-60 years with CTS post upper limb lymphedema selected from Minia oncology centre and from outpatient clinic of Derya University. Patients were randomly assigned to two groups: Group A received CDT along with standard medical treatment, and Group B received medical treatment and bandaging. Outcomes measured included pain (Visual Analogue Scale), upper limb volume, grip strength, and nerve conduction studies. Results: Both groups showed significant improvement post-treatment in all measured outcomes. However, Group A (CDT) exhibited significantly greater improvements in pain reduction, decrease in upper limb volume, increase in grip strength, and nerve conduction improvement rate is approximately 20% compared to Group B (medical treatment alone). Conclusion: CDT significantly enhances outcomes in patients with CTS post upper limb lymphedema compared to medical treatment alone. Implementing CDT in standard care for these patients is recommended to improve quality of life and functional outcomes. |

| Summary, etc. | الخلفية: استئصال الثدي هو الاستئصال الجراحي لأحد الثديين أو كليهما، جزئيا أو كليا. عادة ما يتم إجراء عملية استئصال الثدي لعلاج سرطان الثدي. تجدر الإشارة بقوة إلى أن جراحة إعادة بناء الثدي قد تؤدي إلى مضاعفات مثل متلازمة النفق الرسغي (CTS). في حين تم إنشاء العلاج الكامل للاحتقان (CDT) لعلاج الوذمة اللمفية، إلا أن آثاره على متلازمة النفق الرسغي في هذه الفئة من السكان لم يتم استكشافها بعد. <br/>الغرض: الغرض من هذه الدراسة هو دراسة تأثير العلاج الكامل للاحتقان على متلازمة النفق الرسغي بعد الوذمة اللمفية في الطرف العلوي لدى المرضى بعد استئصال الثدي في محافظة المنيا. المواضيع والطرق: أجريت تجربة معشاة ذات شواهد شملت 60 مريضة تتراوح أعمارهن بين 40-60 سنة مصابات بالوذمة اللمفية في الأطراف العلوية بعد متلازمة النفق الرسغي. تم تقسيم المرضى عشوائيًا إلى مجموعتين: تلقت المجموعة (أ) علاج CDT جنبًا إلى جنب مع العلاج الطبي القياسي، وتلقت المجموعة (ب) العلاج الطبي والاربطة والروتين المنزلي والضمادات. وشملت النتائج المقاسة الألم (مقياس التناظرية البصرية)، وحجم الطرف العلوي، وقوة القبضة، وتم تحليل دراسات التوصيل العصبي إحصائيا ومقارنتها. النتائج: أظهرت كلا المجموعتين تحسنا ملحوظا بعد العلاج في جميع النتائج المقاسة. ومع ذلك، أظهرت المجموعة (أ) (CDT) تحسينات أكبر بكثير في تقليل الألم، وانخفاض حجم الطرف العلوي، وزيادة قوة القبضة، والتوصيل العصبي مقارنة بالمجموعة (ب) (العلاج الطبي وحده). <br/>الاستنتاج: إن العلاج CDT يعزز بشكل كبير النتائج لدى المرضى الذين يعانون من الوذمة اللمفية في الطرف العلوي بعد متلازمة النفق الرسغي مقارنة بالعلاج الطبي والتضميد فقط. يوصى بتنفيذ CDT في الرعاية القياسية لهؤلاء المرضى لتحسين نوعية الحياة والنتائج الوظيفية. |
