| Summary, etc. | Background: chronic nonspecific neck pain (CNSNP) is a prevalent condition in young adults that affects the quality of life and is associated with a wide range of impairments including deficits of neck and scapular muscle performance. Purpose: to compare scapular muscle endurance (SME) on both sides in subjects with CNSNP and a control group of healthy volunteers. Furthermore, to find the correlation between scapular and neck muscle endurance on both sides in both groups in addition to its correlation with neck pain and disability in the neck pain group.<br/>Methods: seventy young adults (mean age= 23.64±1.27) were recruited for this study and were assigned to two groups: CNSNP group (n=35) and control group (n=35). In both groups, SME was assessed using the posterior shoulder endurance test (PSET) at 90°and 135° of horizontal abduction, and neck muscle endurance was assessed using the deep neck flexor endurance (DNFE) test, neck extensor endurance (NEE) test, and lateral neck flexor (LNF) endurance test. The neck functional disability was assessed by the neck disability index (NDI) in both groups, and the visual analogue scale (VAS) was used for the assessment of pain intensity in the CNSNP group only. <br/>Results: There was a significant difference in SME at 90° and 135° of horizontal abduction on both sides in the CNSNP group compared to the control group (p < 0.001). Results showed a moderate correlation between SEM and neck muscle endurance in both groups (r = 0.3 to 0.5, p < 0.05). In the CNSNP group, a significant negative moderate correlation was found between SME and the NDI (r = -0.3 to -0.5, p < 0.05). However, no significant correlation was found between SME and the VAS (p > 0.05). <br/>Conclusion: The measurement of scapular muscular endurance is crucial in young individuals with CNSNP due to the significant variation in SME and its correlation with neck muscle endurance in both the healthy and CNSNP groups. |

| Summary, etc. | الخلفية: آلام الرقبة المزمنة غير المحددة هي حالة سائدة لدى الشباب البالغين وتؤثر على نوعية الحياة وترتبط بمجموعة واسعة من الإعاقات بما في ذلك العجز في أداء الرقبة والعضلات الكتفية. الغرض: المقارنة بين قدرة تحمل عضلات لوح الكتف في الأشخاص الذين لديهم آلام الرقبة المزمنة غير المحددة والأشخاص الأصحاء وأيضًا التحقق من وجود علاقة بين قدرة تحمل عضلات لوح الكتف.<br/>الطريقة: شارك 70 شابًا بالغًا (العمر: 18-29 عامًا) في هذه الدراسة وتم تقسيمهم إلى مجموعتين: مجموعة: آلام الرقبة المزمنة غير المحددة (عددهم = 35) ومجموعة الأشخاص الأصحاء (عددهم = 35). قبل التقييم، تم جمع البيانات المتعلقة بوزن الجسم والطول ومؤشر كتلة الجسم لجميع المشاركين في الدراسة. في كلا المجموعتين، تم تقييم قدرة تحمل عضلات لوح الكتف باستخدام اختبار تحمل الكتف الخلفي وتم تقييم تحمل عضلات الرقبة باستخدام اختبار التحمل المثني العميق للرقبة، واختبار التحمل الباسط للرقبة واختبار التحمل الجانبي للرقبة. تم تقييم مؤشر إعاقة الرقبة في كلا المجموعتين، وتم استخدام المقياس التناظري البصري لشده الألم فقط في مجموعة آلام الرقبة المزمنة غير المحددة<br/>النتائج: كان هناك اختلاف كبير في قدرة تحمل عضلات لوح الكتف التي تم تقييمها بواسطة اختبار تحمل الكتف الخلفي عند 90 و 135درجة من الاختطاف الأفقي على كلا الجانبين في مجموعة الألم المزمن مقارنة بالتحكم في المجموعة الضابطة (001. p <). كشفت النتائج فى كلا المجموعتين عن وجود علاقة ذات دلالة إحصائية بين كل اوضاع اختبار تحمل الكتف الخلفي الجانب واختبار تحمل ثني الرقبة(r 0.3 to 0.5, p < 0.05) وايضا بين كل اوضاع اختبار تحمل الكتف الخلفي واختبار التحمل الجانبي للرقبة على كلا الجانبين. في مجموعة آلام الرقبة المزمنة: لم تكن هناك علاقة ذات دلالة إحصائية بين شدة الألم والمقاييس الأخرى لتحمل الكتف .(p > 0.05) كما وجد ارتباط سلبي متوسط معنوي بين العجز الوظيفي وجميع اوضاع مقاييس التحمل (r -0.3 to -0.5, p < 0.05). تم العثور على علاقة ذات دلالة إحصائية بين اختبار تحمل الكتف الخلفي على الجانب الايسر وتحمل بسط الرقبة (r = 0.344, p = 0.043).<br/>الاستنتاج: ينبغي إدراج تقييم اختبار تحمل عضلات لوح الكتف باستخدام اختبار تحمل الكتف الخلفى في تقييم خلل العضلات الكتفية لدى الشباب المصابين آلام الرقبة المزمنة غير المحددة. |
