Summary, etc. n the rapid transition of healthcare, it is imperative for nurse interns to<br/>respond rapidly to evolving technologies, as they are newcomers and future nurses to<br/>provide patients with good quality of care, and to stay relevant in the competitive market.<br/>One such technology is artificial intelligence (AI). Aim: The study aimed to assess<br/>nursing interns’ perception about artificial intelligence applications in nursing. Study<br/>design: A descriptive exploratory design was utilized in this study. Sample: A<br/>convenience sample of ٤٢٠ nurse interns who were enrolled at the academic year ٢٠٢٢-<br/>٢٠٢٣. Setting: This study was carried out at different intensive care units at Cairo<br/>University hospitals where nurse interns were trained. Tools: Two tools were used to<br/>collect the study data as follows: (١) Personal and work-related data form and (٢)<br/>Artificial intelligence technology questionnaire. Results: the main findings illustrated that<br/>the highest percentage (٤٧٫٥٪ ) of nursing interns had a low level of total perception<br/>about AI applications in nursing, more than one-third (٣٤٫٨٪ ) had a moderate level,<br/>while the lowest percentage (١٧٫٧٪ ) had a high level of total perception about AI<br/>applications in nursing. Conclusion: accordingly, it can be concluded that nurse interns of<br/>Faculty of Nursing, Cairo University generally had a low perception about AI<br/>applications in nursing across all dimensions, with the highest mean percentage related to<br/>attitudes and feelings toward AI. Recommendations: Increase nursing interns' awareness<br/>and preparedness by providing them with the necessary knowledge and skills to work<br/>effectively with AI systems and incorporate AI into nursing curricula.
