| Summary, etc. | Background. SARS-CoV-2, the cause of COVID-19, produces acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), which can be fatal. The PTX3 gene has been described as a risk factor for macrophage activation syndrome in SARS-CoV-2. Here we focus on the role and correlation of PTX3 in SARS-CoV2 patients and study the effect of anti-inflammatory vaccines.<br/>Methods. we included patients admitted to El Sadr Hospital who were suspected of having SARS-CoV-2, SARS-CoV-2 PCR and available concentration of serum PTX3, C-reactive protein(CRP), lactate dehydrogenase(LDH), D. dimer, ferritin, Aspartate aminotransferase (AST), Alanine aminotransferase (ALT), Creatinine, Urea and Complete blood count were performed. Patients were classified into four groups healthy subjects (vaccinated and non-vaccinated), SARS-CoV-2 patients (vaccinated and non-vaccinated).<br/><br/>Results. The mean levels of PTX3, D. dimer, CRP, ferritin, LDH, TLC(p<0.01) AST(p=0.024), and urea(p=0.003) all increased significantly. In addition, lymphopenia(P<0.01) was observed. ROC curve analysis showed that PTX3 exhibits a sensitivity of 0.971 and a specificity of 0.7.<br/>Conclusion. According to our findings, PTX3 could be used as a diagnostic and prognostic marker for SARS-CoV-2 infection. SARS-CoV-2 vaccinations can help protect against SARS-CoV-2 infection and reduce hyperinflammation, which can be a major cause of mortality. |

| Summary, etc. | خلفية: يؤدي فيروس سارس كوفيد -2والمسبب لمرض كوفيد-19 إلى الإصابة بمتلازمة الضائقة التنفسية الحادة، والتي يمكن أن تكون قاتلة، تم وصف جين لبنتراكسين3 كعامل خطر لمتلازمة تنشيط البلاعم في مرضى سارس كوفيد-2.هدف:هدفت هذه الرسالة إلى معرفة دور وعلاقة لبنتراكسين3 في مرضى سارس كوفيد -2ودراسة تأثير اللقاحات المضادة للالتهابات.<br/>طُرق:الدراسة التي تمت شملت المرضى المقبولين في مستشفى الصدر الذين يشتبه في إصابتهم بـ سارس كوفيد -2، وتم أجراء التحاليل التالية: تفاعل البوليميراز المتسلسل لفيرس سارس كوفيد-2، البنتراكسين3، والبروتين سي التفاعلي ، LDH، D. dimer ، الفيريتين، AST،ALT، الكرياتينين، اليوريا وصورة الدم الكاملة،وتم تصنيف المرضى إلى أربع مجموعات: أشخاص أصحاء لم يتلقو اللقاح، أشخاص أصحاء تلقو اللقاح ، مرضى سارس كوفيد-2لم يتلقو اللقاح و مرضى سارس كوفيد-2 تلقو اللقاح<br/>النتائج: ارتفع متوسط مستويات لبنتراكسين3، D. dimer،بروتين سي التفاعلي، الفيريتين، LDH، عدد الكريات الدم البيضاء الكلي (p <0.01) AST (P=0.024) ، واليوريا p = 0.003) ) بشكل ملحوظ. وبالإضافة إلى ذلك، لوحظت قلة اللمفاويات (P <0.01). كما أظهر تحليل منحنى ROC أن لبنتراكسين3 يظهر حساسية تبلغ 0.971 ونوعية تبلغ 0.7.<br/>الاستنتاج: وفقًا للنتائج التي توصلنا إليها، يمكن استخدام لبنتراكسين3 كعلامة تشخيصية وإنذارية لعدوى سارس كوفيد-2، تساعد لقاحات سارس كوفيد -2 في الحماية من عدوى سارس كوفيد -2 وتقليل الالتهاب المفرط الذي يمكن أن يكون سببًا رئيسيًا للوفاة. |
