| Summary, etc. | Chronic non-specific neck pain affects the lateral and dorsal aspects of the neck with no marked pathognomonic signs or symptoms. Impairment of functional outcomes is a major clinical manifestation in chronic non-specific neck pain patients. Purpose: Compare the effect of electro-acupuncture (EA) with low transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) on pain intensity level, function outcomes of cervical, active cervical range of motion, and cervical flexion rotation test in patients with chronic nonspecific neck pain. Subjects and Methods: Sixty chronic non-specific neck pain patients from both genders were enrolled in the study. Their ages ranged from 18 to 35 years. Patients were randomly assigned into three equal groups; the Control Group received conventional physical therapy only, and the Experimental Group (A) received conventional physical therapy, in addition to (EA). Experimental Group (B) received conventional physical therapy, in addition to low (TENS). Treatment sessions were conducted two times per week for four weeks. The duration of each session ranged from 45 to 60 minutes. Pre- and post-treatment measurements were done for pain intensity level using visual analouge scale (VAS), for cervical functional outcomes using the Arabic neck disability index (NDI), for active cervical range of motion (ROM) using a mobile application inclinometer, and cervical flexion rotation test (FRT). Results: Each group showed a statistically significant decrease in the (VAS), Arabic (NDI), active cervical (ROM), and cervical (FRT) in each group post-treatment compared with pre-treatment. There was a significant decrease in the (VAS) and Arabic (NDI) of groups (A) and (B) compared with that of the control group (p < 0.05). There was a significant increase in active cervical (ROM) and cervical (FRT) of groups (A) and (B) compared with the control group (p < 0.05). There was no significant difference in the (VAS), Arabic (NDI), active cervical (ROM), and cervical (FRT) between groups (A) and (B) (p > 0.05). Conclusion: It could be concluded that either EA or TENS had a more beneficial effect on pain intensity levels, functional outcomes of cervical, active cervical (ROM), and cervical (FRT) when added to conventional physical therapy in patients with chronic non-specific neck pain when compared with conventional physical therapy alone. So, each could be recommended to consider these modalities in the physical therapy program of patients with chronic non-specific neck pain. |

| Summary, etc. | الخلفية: يؤثر ألم الرقبة المزمن غير المحدد على الجانب الخلفى للرقبة دون ظهور علامات أو أعراض مرضية واضحة. يعد ضعف النتائج الوظيفية أحد المظاهر السريرية الرئيسية لدى مرضى آلام الرقبة المزمنة غير المحددة. <br/>الهدف: مقارنة تأثير الوخز بالإبر الكهربائية مع التحفيز الكهربائي العصبي المنخفض عبر الجلد على مستوى شدة الألم، ونتائج وظيفة آلام العنق، ونطاق الحركة العنقية النشطة، واختبار دوران و ثني العنق لدى المرضى الذين يعانون من آلام الرقبة المزمنة غير المحددة. <br/>المواد والطرق والأساليب: تم تسجيل ستين مريضًا يعانون من آلام الرقبة المزمنة غير المحددة من كلا الجنسين في الدراسة. تراوحت أعمارهم من ١٨ إلى ٣٥ عامًا. تم توزيع المرضى عشوائيًا على ثلاث مجموعات متساوية؛ تلقت المجموعة الضابطة العلاج الطبيعي التقليدي فقط، وتلقت المجموعة التجريبية (أ) العلاج الطبيعي التقليدي، بالإضافة إلى الوخز بالإبر الكهربائي، تلقت المجموعة التجريبية (ب) العلاج الطبيعي التقليدي، بالإضافة إلى التحفيز الكهربائي العصبي المنخفض عبر الجلد. أجريت جلسات العلاج مرتين في الأسبوع لمدة شهر. تراوحت مدة كل جلسة من ٤٥إلى ٦٠ دقيقة. تم إجراء تقييمات ما قبل وبعد العلاج لمستوى شدة الألم باستخدام مقياس التناظر البصري، وللنتائج الوظيفية العنقية باستخدام مؤشر إعاقة الرقبة العربية، وللنطاق النشط للحركة العنقية باستخدام مقياس الميل في التطبيق المحمول، واختبار ثني ودوران عنق. <br/>النتائج: أظهرت كل مجموعة انخفاضًا كبيرًا إحصائيًا في درجة مقياس التناظر البصري ودرجة مؤشر إعاقة الرقبة العربية ومدى الحركة العنقية واختبار ثني ودوران عنق في كل مجموعة بعد العلاج مقارنةً بما قبل العلاج. كان هناك انخفاض في درجة مقياس التناظر البصري ودرجة مؤشر إعاقة الرقبة العربية للمجموعتين (أ) و(ب) مقارنةً بمجموعة التحكم (ص < 0.05). كانت هناك زيادة كبيرة في اختبار ثني ودوران عنق وللنطاق النشط للحركة العنقية للمجموعتين (أ) و(ب) مقارنةً بمجموعة التحكم (ص < 0.05). لم يكن هناك فرق كبير في درجة مقياس التناظر البصري ودرجة مؤشر إعاقة الرقبة العربية ونطاق الحركة العنقية واختبار ثني ودوران عنق بين المجموعتين (أ) و(ب) (ص> 0.05). الاستنتاج: يمكن استنتاج أن إما الوخز بالإبر الكهربائية أو التحفيز الكهربائي العصبي المنخفض عبر الجلد كان له تأثير أكثر فائدة على مستويات شدة الألم والنتائج الوظيفية لعنق ونطاق الحركة النشط لعنق واختبار ثني ودوران عنق عند إضافته إلى العلاج الطبيعي التقليدي في المرضى الذين يعانون من آلام الرقبة المزمنة غير المحددة عند مقارنتها بالعلاج الطبيعي التقليدي وحده. لذا، فمن المستحسن أن تؤخذ هذه الوسائل بعين الاعتبار في برنامج العلاج الطبيعي للمرضى الذين يعانون من آلام الرقبة المزمنة غير المحددة. |
