In this work , 55 patients with hydrocephalus associated with posterior fossa tumors are studied , Neurosurgical opinions on management of that hydrocephalus vary greatly ; various authors advocate direct tumor removal , others prefer preoperative external ventricular drainage ( EVD ) , while others recommend performing permanent CSF diversion by placement of a shunt before tumor removal or performing an endoscopic third ventriculocisternostomy |
