| Summary, etc. | Vertebral fractures ; are highly painful , can hinder mobility , affect quality of life and lead to an increase in mortality rate amongst elderly populations . Consequences of untreated vertbral fracture are ; reduced height , kyphosis and chronic back pain. Vertebroplasty technique was carried out on 15 patients with a total of twenty one osteoporotic fractures . Patients ages varied from 55 - 75 years with the series being predominately female ( 2 : 1 ) |
