The air conditioning applications in mosques are considered as one of the important HVAC applications, with wide variety of heat, water vapour, and carbon dioxide sources due to high occupancy load of prayers. So, the present thesis is devoted to numerical investigate the influence of turbulence model on prediction of the indoor environmental parameters inside a mosque and its effect on prayers thermal comfort. The example shown here is for an archaeological mosque of moderate capacity (900 prayers) Located in 2Sayda Zeinab3 downtown Cairo. The thermal comfort prediction through this work was based on the PMV (predicted mean vote) model and the PPD (percentage predicted dissatisfied) model. The study is carried out using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation using a commercial CFD code, namely FLUENT® version 14. The CFD modelling techniques solved the continuity, momentum, energy, and species transport equations in addition four turbulence model.
