| Summary, etc. | The Euro-Mediterranean heritage program , managed by the EuropeAid co-operation office at the EC , was launched in 1998 and continued in four phases ( I, II, III, and IV) until 2013 for total amount of 74 million Euros, involving 45 projects and with approximately 400 partners from EU member states and South Mediterranean countries, now identified as Mediterranean partner countries ( MPCs) : Algeria, Egypt, Israel , Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, the Palestinian Authority, Syria, Tunisia and Turkey. The Program is managed by Europe-Aid, Co-operation Office at the EC. The projects are coordinated and monitored by the Regional Management and Support Unit (RMSU) based in Rome at the Italian Ministry for Cultural Heritage. According to the EU, partner countries, for the first time will had opportunity to articulate their priorities concerning cultural heritage in the specific sectors of education and public awareness-raising, economic and social impact, legislation and institutional framework. |
