Summary, etc. Far lateral lumbar disc prolapse is one of the causes of lower limb radicular pain. Surgical intervention is indicated if medical treatment fails or in the presence of progressive neurological deficit. The surgical approach is either by open surgical laminectomy, facetectomy and discectomy or by microscopic and endoscopic alternatives. This study was conducted upon 20 patients in neurosurgery department in Cairo university and Fayoum university hospitals
