| Summary, etc. | In current study, 200 samples were collected from freshly dead (49) and diseased (151) rabbits of different ages from private farms of different governorates of Egypt. The samples were collected aseptically from rabbits suffering from various signs of respiratory disorders (nasal discharges, sneezing, coughing. All samples were )conjunctivitis and other respiratory disorders examination, biochemical bacteriological subjected to identification and molecular characterization of the isolates using conventional PCR. 16 out of 200 samples (8%) were positive for P. multocida and 36out of 200 samples (18%) were positive for M. haemolytica by conventional bacteriological method. Using PCR, 3 out of 16 isolates (18.75%) were positive for P. multocida and 29 out of 36 isolates (80.6%) were positive for M. haemolytica. The positive isolates by PCR subjected to antibiotic sensitivity testing, and the drug of choice was sulfonamethoxazole/trimethoprim. The current study recommends field consideration from veterinarians and researchers to the respiratory affection and external lesions of rabbits |
