| Summary, etc. | Objective: In the present study the hand radiation doses to the occupational workers handling (Technicium-99m) ⁹⁹ {u036B}{u036B} Tc-labeled compounds in nuclear medicine were measured by thermoluminescence dosimetry (TLD). TLD is made up from LiF crystal. Measurement od the hand dose using finger ring dosimeter during preparation and injection of radiopharmaceuticals is useful in the assessment of the extremily doses received by nuclear medicine worker. Also some biophysical parameters for the blood of Nuclear Medicine Workers (NMW) were studied. Thesis biophysical parameters are the blood viscosity , thermal activation energy (Ea) of red blood cells (RBCs) flow, UV-visible spectra of hemoglobin and the intensity of electron spin resonance (ESR) for lyophilized blood. Material and Method: The test group for this study consisted of 9 NMW, 3 females & 6 males from different nuclear medicine centers. The age of the workers ranged between 24 - 30 with mean age of 29.2 ± 3.2 years. They didn{u2019}t include smokers or pregnancy. Blood samples were taken twice, first after Round 1 (R1) & second after Round 2 (R2). R1 was 121 days ± 15.3 day, while R2 was 131.6 days ± 14.6 day. The ring dosimeters TLDwere measured after each round. The doses were reported in millisieverts that accumulated in 1 year. All calculations were compared with healthy volunteers (control), 2 females & 4 males |
