Summary, etc. Herein, gamma irradiation was used as an effective and 2green3 route for production of graphene sheets. The prepared gamma irradiated graphene (GIG) exhibited high protection efficiency for AISI 316 in 3.5% NaCl solution which was enhanced upon inclusion of chitosan (CS) into the GIG matrix. Electrochemical measurements proved the stability of GIG and GIG/CS coatings after different immersion times and at elevated temperatures in 3.5% NaCl solution. On the other hand, the corrosion behavior of GIG coating and its composites with different concentrations of organic inhibitor was evaluated in 0.5 M sulfuric acid solution. The protection efficiency increases upon increasing the concentration of the inhibitor. Different parameters relevant to corrosion were considered such as the effect of temperature, stability of the coatings and effect of prolonged immersion time in solution
