Summary, etc. Two field experiments were carried out at the experimental station of Sakha Agricultural Research center, Egypt, during the two growing seasons of 2013/2014 and 2014/2015 to study the effect of foliar applications with humic acid, fulvic acid and potassium humate at a level of 0.5%, and eight soil application of nitrogen fertilization rates 90kgN/fed (recommended), 72, 54, and 36 kg N/ fed individually and or combined with humic acid at a rate 1kg/ fed on photosynthetic pigments, yields and its components, as well as quality of sugar beet. Results showed that foliar spraying by humic substances affected significant chlorophyll a and b, yield (tons/ fed) and its components, sucrose, purity, Ü amino-N, extractable sugar, extractability, sugar lost to molasses and alkalinity coefficient percentages in both seasons also, sodium% in the 2nd season only. Fulvic acid surpassed the other humic substances in the content of chlorophyll a and b, yields (tons/ fed) and its components, sucrose, purity, extractable sugar, extractability percentages and the lowest Ü amino-N in both seasons. Generally, soil application significantly affected all traits in both seasons, except carotenoides (mg/g.f.w) and Na % in the 1st season only. Applied N fertilizer at a rate of 72kg N/fed combined with humic acid significantly maximized leaves, root and sugar yields (tons/ fed) , root dimension cm/ plant, leaves and root fresh weights (kg/ plant) leaves and root dry matter percentage (%), sucrose%, purity, extractable sugar% and extractability %, as well as lowest impurities content (K, Na and Ü-amino-N), sugar lost on molasses%, and alkalinity coefficient% compared to 90 kg N/fed in both seasons. Application of 72Kg N/fed combined with humic acid as soil application and spraying foliage with fulvic acid was helpful for suggesting good use of nitrogen fertilizer along with fulvic acid to increase sugar beet crop yield and its components, and also improve its quality
