520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. Post-surgical stenosis of the frontal sinus can be a challenging problem for the endoscopic sinus surgeon. Frontal sinus stents are often used in an attempt to maintain frontal outflow patency. Maintaining patency of the frontal sinus can be technically challenging for even the most experienced endoscopic sinus surgeon. Even with meticulous dissection and use of mucosal-preserving techniques, postoperative stenosis of the frontal outflow tract can be a frequent occurrence. Methods for improving long-term patency of the postoperative frontal sinus include frequent debridement, dilation of the outflow tract, use of topical or injected corticosteroids, and use of space-occupying stents. The goal of such interventions is to prevent natural closure of what is often a circumferential wound. The use of frontal sinus stents or spacers has become common practice for many endoscopic sinus surgeons, however, the efficacy and safety of their use has not been thoroughly evaluated. The objective of this study is to assess the efficacy of usage and safety of the frontal sinus stent. We conducted this study on 16 patients (18 sinuses) had different frontal sinus diseases, different surgical techniques were used to do frontal sinustomy with introduction of frontal sinus stent. We collected the results and the subjective improvement was (89.88%) and the open frontal sinus was (77.77%) and the complicated sinuses with stent were (11.11%). We considered usage of the frontal sinus stent can help in maintaining the frontal drainage pathway open even in some aggressive diseases with high probability of restenosis, also it is considered safe to use it with some postoperative care in the outpatient clinic
