Summary, etc. |
The e-procurement system moved from being perceived as a secondary system to being a necessity to sustain competitiveness and to stay along with the fast change in the business world. The main objective of this research is to highlight the importance of the e-procurement system in today{u2019}s business, to add value to the academic view of the topic and to enhance the practical practice of the e-procurement in Egypt; through understanding the factors affecting its adoption and the effect of adopting it. In order to achieve this objective, the study proposes a two-stage.The first stage of the model links between the perceived ease of use, perceived barriers of adopting the eprocurement system, and the actual adoption of the system. The second stage of the model shows the effect of adopting the e-procurement system on the supply chain performance. The model is based on existing theoretical and empirical work. The fieldwork involves the design of the questionnaire that was distributed on a two-stage cluster random sample, targeting the employees of procurement/purchasing departments in large ICT (Information and Communication Technology) companies. Almost all measurement scales have been adopted from well-established and reliable measures in the literature. One of three hypotheses has been accepted while the null hypotheses for the other two, have been accepted. The perceived barriers hindering the adoption of e-procurement were found to have a significant effect on adopting the e-procurement system, above all other variables |
