The current thesis focuses on the study of non-target toxicity of Deltamethrin (DLM) in rats, from biochemical and genotoxicity aspects. Also, the other aim of study was to find a mixture of antioxidants (A) to reduce the damage caused by DLM. Initially, LD50 of DLM was determined, which was 135 mg/kg, and the two doses (6.75 mg and 13.5 m /kg b.wt) were used for the treated groups.The results of this study showed significant negative effects on the biochemical and genetic levels, where the blood sugar and (TC) rates increased significantly, where (BChE) and (TAC) where significantly reduced. The liver function was significantly affected by the high rates of (AST), (ALT), (ALP), and (T.B), and reduced the ratio of (T.P).The obtained results of neurotoxicity showed a significant increase in (AChE), (MDA) and (NO), while the activity of Na+/K+ ATPase, (GST) and (GSH) where reduced significantly.Also at the genetic level, DNA is significantly affected by the formation of chromosomal aberrations and micronuclei in the bone marrow, in addition to DNA fragmentation and comets in liver cells. In addition, we used (TNFÜ) and (IL-6) as a biomarker of cellular immune function. Our result shown statistically significant raises in the activity of both biomarkers. In the other hand, Antioxidant mixture showed a significant positive effect in reducing the damage caused by DLM, where the biochemical rates returned close to normal and reduced the damage on the DNA |
