| Summary, etc. | Background: low back pain (LBP) is the most common symptom among dentists due to Their working in a standing position and prolonged stooping over a reclined or supine patients which lead to development of trigger points formation at lower back. Purpose of study: localize most common level of trigger point formation among dentists at lumbosacral area and identify the possible risk factors for the development of trigger points by digital Algometry which eases the physical therapist to find trigger point and save time and effort for treatment. Methods: This study was carried out on fifty dentists males with chronic Low back pain(CHLBP) and their ages were ranged from 30 to 45 years , dentists were examined in hospitals and private clinics at Maadi District for Mapping of Trigger points(TP) at lumbosacral region using digital Algometry bilateral 2 cm lateral from the L4 to S2 spinous processes at right or left side they were evaluated by digital pressure Algometry.Results: L5 level was the common site of trigger points at lower back between 4 lumbosacral paravertebral levels detected in 15 subjects (48.3%) followed by S1 level in 7 subjects (22.5%) and S2 level in 7 subjects (22.5%) and Trigger points at lower back was detected in L4 level in 2 subjects (6.7%) and there was a positive correlation between risk factors as working hours per day, body mass index(BMI),year of experience and trigger point formation, and there was a positive correlation between aging and trigger points formation and negative correlation between number of patient treated per day by dentists and trigger points formation. Conclusion:L5 level was the common site of trigger point formation at lower back among dentists in Cairo at Maadi district |
