Summary, etc. Extravasation injury is the damage caused by the accidental leakage of intravenous solution from a vessel into the surrounding tissue and it is the most common challenging problem that results from intravenous therapy. The study aimed to evaluate the effect of training program about extravasation injuries on nurses{u2019} performance and neonatal outcomes. One-group pre and post-test quasi-experimental design was utilized. Data were collected over a period of eight months from October 2018 to May 2019. A convenient sample of all nurses (forty-five) who were working in the two neonatal intensive care units at Kafr Elsheikh city(General and El Obour hospital) and forty-five preterm neonates were recruited. Four tools were used to assess nurses{u2019} knowledge, performance, recording sheet, and Premature Infant Pain Profile. Results revealed that the total mean scores of nurses' knowledge and performance increased significantly after program implementation than that before. Stages three and four of extravasation decreased significantly in post-program preterm infant group compared to that in pre-program, as well, a statistically significant difference was detected between the pre and the post program preterm infants{u2019} groups regarding to successful attempts for cannula insertion by nurses. Conclusion: training program about extravasation injuries improved nurses' knowledge and performance and this was reflected positively on neonatal outcomes
