The aim of this study is to identify several indigenous microbes potent in azo dye biodegradation and to better understand the conditions necessary to enhance the biodegradation process bacterial isolates were obtained by enrichment culture technique from 8 textile industrial wasstewater and 2 soil samples collected from textile and dyeing plants at new borg elarab cairo kafr eldawar and elmahalla elkubra regions
