Dissertation note: Thesis (PH.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty Of Engineering - Department Of Mechanical Design and Production Summary: The dynamic response of multilayered system to the moving surface load is important in many fields of engineering and physicsA formulation for the dynamic analysis of a general multilayered system in three dimensions is presentedThe Burmister analytical solution is expanded to the general case of a multilayered system in which each member may be treated as a Burmister layer , a Kirchhoff plate layer , or a Vlasov layerThe fundamental solutions of two - dimension elastodynamic problem for the multilayered system under actual moving load acting within a layered elastic media are derived in time domain with the aid of Galeluo and Fourier transformsIn addition , an effective numerical procedure , the inverse fast Fourier transform , is also proposed to calculate these solutionsThe influence of the moving load speed , the material characterization and the model type of the layer , on the response of multilayered system such as horizontal displacement , vertical displacement , vertical stress , and shear stress are includedThe proposed formulation has been coded in MATLAB into a developed program which is called OLAThe program allows the user to idealize multilayered system members using dissimilar modelsThe program has been compared with available computerized layered elastic analysis (the programs ELSYM5 , and 3D - MOVE) Excellent agreement has been found in both instances
