إن الفهم العميق للغة لا يتحقق إلا من خلال الإلمام بالنواحى الثقافية , فاللغة هى الوسيلة الرئيسة التي ندير بها حياتنا الاجتماعية، وعندما نستخدم اللغة في التواصل تنعقد الصلة بينها وبين الثقافة , فالأدب و الأدباء هم لسان حال الثقافة , وسوف نتناول فى هذا البحث واحدة من أبرز أعمال الأديب الصينى يو هوا التى ترجمت أعماله إلى العديد من اللغات و حازت على العديد من الجوائز الدولية , تناول يو هوا من خلال بطلها الأول وراوى القصة سون جوانج لين بعض ملامح الحياة الإجتماعية فى الصين فى فترة ما بين السبعينيات و التسعينيات , ملقياً الضوء على بعض التغيرات التى طرأت على المجتمع آنذاك , رواية نهر الزمن كما وصفها النقاد " رواية رائعة ومحطمة للقلوب " سنتناول فى هذا البحث لمحة عن الكاتب و أسلوبه الخاص فى تناول هذه الرواية وهدف البحث أن نقوم بتحليل الاسلوب البلاغى الفريد للكاتب يو هوا و الذى جعل من هذه الرواية عملاً فريداً من نوعه يستحق الترجمة إلى العربية فى أكثر من دار نشر بالوطن العربى كما ترجم للإنجليزية والعديد من اللغات الأخرى ولذلك فهدف البحث الأساسى هو تحليل الأسلوب البلاغى لهذا لعمل الإبداعى و إلقاء الضوء على خلفية هذا العمل أولاً و بعد ذلك توضيح أهم سمات الاسلوب البلاغى للرواية لتسهم هذه الدراسة كمرجع للروائيين المستحدثين ولكل من يهتم بدراسة وتحليل الأساليب البلاغية للأعمال الأدبية من خلال واحدة من أبرز الأعمال فى تاريخ الرواية الصينية الحديثة .

This thesis aims to investigate Cries in the Drizzle, a masterpiece of the Chinese
author Yu Hua who deeply embodies the Avant Garde genre. This novel’s
significance is rooted in its touching, concise writing style . As the turning point in
Yu Hua’s literary works , Cries in the Drizzle is an incomparable addition to
contemporary Chinese literature .The novel illustrates the life of a young Chinese
boy throughout his childhood and adolescence during the reign of chairman Mao.
This thesis consists of four chapters:
The introduction explores the importance of the study, the previous studies, the
scope of the study, and the methodology.
The First chapter is concerned with an introduction of the writer , the beginning
of his literary career , the reason for choosing the novel Cries in the Drizzle, and
terminology. It also offers an analysis of the linguistic structure of Yu Hua’s
novels in the nineties. Besides, it explores the evolution in Yu Hua’s writing style,
and the new characteristics of his style including the use of the black comedy and
similes in his works at that time.
The Second chapter elucidates the background of Cries in the Drizzle, the
narrative style used in the novel. As well as, it explores the phenomenon of
repetition in the narrative structure, the narrative perspective, the closed narrative
structure along with the unique time structure of the novel. Finally, it offers a short
brief about the rhetorical methods used in the novel.
The third Chapter is a detailed analysis of the rhetorical methods used in the
novel. First, it investigates the use of similes, personification and metaphor in it.
Then it explores the verbal coloration, the double meaning, and the contrast and its

role in the structure of the novel. Finally, it analyzes Yu Hwa's style in using the
black comedy in the novel and its role in enriching the writing style.
The fourth chapter is concerned with the linguistic structure of the novel. It
provides a general review of the linguistic structure of the novel and its prominent,
significant elements, and the distinct narrative style. As well as, it offers a broad
overview on the integration of the language of showing and telling, the use of
auxiliary words and its effect on the linguistic structure. Moreover, it explores the
poetic quality of the narrative language, and the philosophical undertones of Yu
Hua’s style that are reflected in his language and the discussive narrative structure
